Update: We finally went back and it is actually pretty good with a decent variety. The biggest problem for me is with all.ypu can eat, I treat it as a challenge to get my money's worth, so stuffing myself with sushi makes it far less enjoyable, as sushi is meant to be savored and enjoyed. No fault of theirs, though. The rating will be adjusted, but the initial experience is still being taken into account.
I would have loved to review the food, but i didnt even get the chance to eat. My wife, daughter and I showed up at 8pm on a Saturday and were told they weren't taking anyone else for the night and to come back tomorrow, despite posted hours until 11pm. The russian (?) hostess was less than pleasant. People in front of us had their names taken, but apparently my party of 3 was the cut-off point. She said the manager told her to not take anyone else (and I repeat: at 8 PM on a Saturday night on their second week of business), despite not even leaving the hostess stand after taking the names of the previous group.
My wife called 10 minutes after we left, while we were in the McDonalds drive thru (and watched as more and more people flooded in) and an Asian lady answered. We asked how long the wait would be and she was told "no more than 20 minutes" if we get there soon.
So, now I'm confused... were we profiled? Do they have an aversion to making money? Was the first hostess just a miserable hag? Either way, my family had been looking forward to eating there since we heard it was coming, so this first experience was definitely a letdown and, honestly, the excitement is gone. Maybe one day we will go back and try again, but then...
Read moreI have been to many hibachi restaurants in Pittsburgh and 2 all you can eat establishments. This one is far and away the best of the entire bunch. Between my Mom and I we had steak, chicken and shrimp and all 3 meats were cooked to absolute perfection. She asked for medium on her steak and she got textbook medium. Beautiful. I ordered a variety of 4 sushi rolls all of which were a full 8 pieces and stuffed with a generous amount of fillings. No shrinkflation here. I also had 4 pieces of the thickest, most beautifully fresh and fatty salmon sashimi I ever had. It's worth noting the salmon they use for the sushi is a lower grade or quality than the salmon for the sashimi, which is a good thing, because the sashimi you get is TOP quality for the best sashimi experience. The salmon on the rolls is also very delicious and good quality, just not as choice as the sashimi salmon. The waitress we had was sweet, friendly, never rushed us, checked on us quite a few times for drinks and was very insistent on making sure we understood the rules of the establishment. I felt well taken care of and informed! The bathrooms are clean enough, not perfect but certainly not something I would complain about or not want to use. A major draw here is the cleanliness. Clean floors and tables. Nice floor plan. Open and not claustrophobic. They don't quite have the menu size of other AYCE hibachi and sushi restaurants in the area but their cleanliness, great staff and delicious food more than makes up for it. I absolutely recommend it, and I will be...
Read moreI was here last night with my family for the first time and from the time we walked in the door, to the time we left, it was a bad experience. The young girl at the hostess stand had an attitude to begin with. Once we sat down, the waitress (a female) took forever to wait on us and when she did, she was very short with us and not pleasant at all. We ordered 2 chicken and steak dinners and also a kids chicken and steal dinner. I did not finish my steak and chicken and neither did my son. We were charged an additional $4 because we did not finish our meals and were never told this prior. First of all, how are you going to charge me 25.99 and 14.99 for one meal then an additional $4 to leave with it?!? Our bill came to $84 (so not worth it) and tipped the waitress. As she was walking away and i told her to keep the change, she was looking down and counting the money with a confused look on her face. She then came back to my table and said “you told me to keep the change, your bill is 84.00” so i took the $ and counted it and there was abt $100 there and said yea i told u to keep the change. It’s was very uncomfortable and almost like she was trying to tell us we didn’t tip her well. I then tried calling the restaurant a few minutes after i left and was told there was no manger to talk to and they cld not take my contact info. for someone to return my call!!! I know a few people who have been at this restaurant and heard this is what they do when it comes to the bill and customers tipping. It’s...
