Pizza Marsala — Restaurant in Hempfield Township

The past two times I've ordered have been abject lessons in disappointment. We regularly spend $50 minimum (and tipped anywhere from $5-10 bucks depending) at the Greensburg location, and order every month/other month or so. The second-to-last time, we were told our order would be here in 45 minutes; an hour and a half later, we had to call the store ourselves to see what the hell was going on. They didn't even realize, despite the fact it had been approved over the online ordering app they happily took our money from.

This time, we were told we'd have to wait an hour; imagine our surprise when they arrived in closer to 35 minutes! I was so excited; my hopes lifted that we would have a pleasant dinner, unlike the last time.

Wrong.

They completely negated to include the small pizza we ordered for our son, overcharged my hoagie (they left off so many toppings it was a regular instead of a supreme), and when I told the driver,, I was given attitude like they didn't believe me. IT WAS ON THE ORDER SLIP THE DRIVER HAD IN HIS HAND, but for whatever reason, it was completely inconceivable that they had #%&@ed up our order, yet again. The shop called me back, and this attitude seemed to be echoed by whoever was on the line; she seemed to have trouble believing that I would want all the vegetables I paid for to be on my hoagie.

Finally, an hour and a half from when we originally ordered, the kid gets his soggy-centered pizza, and I get my hoagie---long after the rest of our food is cold.

When even the happiest, easiest-to-feed-7-year-old is saying, "--NEVER-- AGAIN!!" with disgust on his face, you're better off spending your time and money somewhere else. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. What used to be quality service and food, now leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a 12 piece of split jumbo wings and a gyro. The wings said 8.99 on there website menu, but when I tried to place an online order, the check said they were 9.99. I called and asked and he said it's probably an old menu, needs updated (but they can update the checkout price?) Mozzarella sticks were a bust at 4.79 for four. The gyro was good, but the sauce was put on the side when I only wanted the garlic sauce for the wings put on the side. I got there and someone was parked in the middle of Marsala's driving lane. I called inside and asked if they bring it out to me because I've ordered from another pizza place that did that given the COVID-19 outbreak so maybe the lady ahead was waiting on that. The employee said to come in, that lady is parked waiting for her food to be prepared. I went in with a mask on and the person at the counter had no mask on! Okay, you don't want to wear one when you're up front all alone half the time and most orders are delivery, but have the courtesy to put one on for an incoming customer when I just called saying I'll be walking in any second. The wings were trash, small dry and a waste of money even with the sauce. They had to specify they are "split" jumbo wings on the menu because when I order JUMBO wings, I'm expecting something at least bigger than my thumb. I purchased a certificate to go there without searching what kind of service they had in the past or the size of it, in 12/28/2011 when I was in Japan. (We are stationed in Okinawa with the Marine Corps). It was a large one so that our family could go out for dinner before I leave back. With not seeing the place on how big it was, I coordinated to have 19 of my family come. With great greetings to come and prearranging with them a couple times before the date, It was the best time we had. They were very generous to move the table around to fit our family, the food was great and delicious(large quantities), and their personality was the best!!! The best service I've had in a long time. And we did not wait long for our food to come out. I do plan on doing it again next year if and when we come back.
