I normally love Dairy Queen. The dessert part of it. I have visited many locations. I love to order a large cup like a blizzard with just ice cream and pecans in the middle and on top. I have been do this for years. I was very disappointed to step into this location see the guy stop cleaning the trash to come to the counter to assist my nephew and myself. He yawned right in our faces. He did not cover his mouth. I ordered the Alaskan Fish Sandwich, which I never order food. I was surprised he did not know what I was talking about. I pointed him towards the advertisement in the window. I asked if they had the orange sherbet type ice cream that is advertised on tv. He said no. I proceeded to order what the cup with ice cream and pecans. He called a thin girl with long wavy black hair. She had tattoos on her left forearm nearly to her wrist. She charged me for what I wanted. I also ordered a chocolate shake and a fudge Sunday. This girl came from around the counter with a blizzard in her hand she slid it to me and told me we do not make what you want. I told her I have come in this particular location many times leaving with that order. I asked her if I may have a lid. She threw the lid at me. I was shocked. She went behind the counter on the side where the desserts are made. She kept looking up and down I did not take my eyes off of her. The customer service at this location on a Sunday at 5pm is awful. My recommendations is beware of the thin girl with the long wavy hair. She is working with customer's food. Her hair is not in a net. Her behavior does not represent the Dairy Queen employees that I am use to. Dairy Queen really needs to take a close look at...
Read moreI'm not writing this review to be upset, but rather to provide some helpful feedback on my drive-thru experience today, as the entire process seemed to have some systemic issues. It started with a five-minute wait at the speaker, without a greeting, just to place my order. There were no cars behind me and only one ahead at the window. After finally ordering my simple meal—a sandwich, fries, and an ice cream—I paid and then proceeded to wait for several more minutes at the pickup window.
The main issue began when the window associate then asked me to pull forward to wait, stating that others behind me were waiting for their food. I replied that I was also waiting and had already been waiting for a significant amount of time at both the speaker and the window. When I explained that I preferred to wait in the line, as that's how a drive-thru works, a manager then came to the window and insisted I move.
The purpose of a drive-thru is its sequential, first-come-first-served nature. Asking a customer to leave the line disrupts that flow, especially when their order is delayed to prioritize another placed after theirs. This experience suggests an inability to manage the process or set realistic internal service times. This ultimately led me to request a refund, which was also a slow process.
For what it's worth, I went to a competitor across the parking lot which was visibly busier, and I was able to order and receive the same meal in about two minutes without pulling forward. It just highlights that the system here may need some review to improve efficiency and the customer experience or perhaps a refresh...
Read moreThis Dairy Queen on Spencer Street is completely unmanaged and an absolute disaster. On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, I ordered through the app at 6:51 PM for drive-through pickup, with a ready time of 7:03 PM. When I arrived at 7:13 PM, the staff had no idea about my order. They tried to claim I had placed it at the wrong location—until I showed them my receipt multiple times. Even then, they refused to look it up or resolve the issue. I waited patiently until 7:33 PM before going inside, and that’s when the chaos really started. The staff made it clear they had no supervisor or manager present because their manager was out sick with COVID. No one knew how to handle the situation. One employee, who acted like she was in charge, outright refused to assist me or call for help. Despite showing my receipt and app confirmation over and over, they refused to fulfill my order and marked it as "completed" in the app—effectively stealing my money while leaving me with nothing to show for it! This location is unmanaged, untrained, and incapable of providing basic customer service. Taking money without delivering goods or offering resolutions is not just unethical—it’s illegal. This establishment is proof of what happens when there’s no competent supervision. Until Dairy Queen addresses these issues and puts someone in charge who knows how to run things, avoid this location at all costs. Save yourself the frustration of dealing with unprofessional staff and...
