My 80-year-old parents and I regularly frequented this restaurant for lunch. Today's visit was much different than usual. The waitress carded my parents, which is absolutely ridiculous! Rather than show their ID because the request is so ridiculous, they both ordered water. It upset me because I know my dad likes a beer every now and then, but he's not one to complain. I mentioned the fact that it's ridiculous to the waitress and she said she had to card everybody. The reasonable waitresses never do. Or, when we mention how ridiculous it is, they agree and don't force my parents to show their ID. I, personally, would have just left and gone to the next restaurant down the road, but my parents are very patient and just decided to stay. The waitress, Jordan, could sense I was annoyed and immediately copped an attitude. We ordered, ate (I only ate a few bites because, based on her attitude, I was afraid she spit in my food or something) and waited forever for our check. I don't know if she did it purposely or just forgot about us, but we had to wait a very long time. When we finally flagged her down and received the check, the bowl of soup my dad had ordered was priced wrong. The menu had a cup of soup priced at $6.99 and a bowl of soup priced at $5.99. When the check came, my dad's bowl of soup was priced at $6.99. He complained and said he was charged incorrectly, which, technically it was according to the menu. My dad never complains, but I think the fact that he was annoyed at getting carded and not being able to enjoy a beer, he thought if they wanted to be technical about it, he was going to be technical about it. He told the waitress about it and she turned on her heel and said she would get the manager. The manager came over and my dad explained how the menu said the bowl of soup was $5.99. I explained that I understood the menu was incorrect, but that my dad was annoyed that he got carded at 80 years old. The manager said they had to do it because it was a law. I explained to him that it is not a law. It is only a law that you have to card everyone in a store. It is not a law in restaurants. I looked it up on the internet and called him back over to show him. He started arguing with me and said it was a law to him. I said well it's one thing for it to be a law and another thing for it to be a corporate rule. He insisted it was a law to him. We went back and forth a couple of times and at this point, we were like okay, whatever. The waitress came back by, threw our bill at us and continued walking. She never said another word to us. She came, picked up our credit card, returned, threw the receipt on the table and twirled around on her heel again and left. I have never in all of my 57 years not tipped a waitress before. In fact, my family has worked in the restaurant business and we always tip at least 20% and if it's good service, 30%. It's unfortunate because my parents always chose this restaurant on our weekly lunch dates. I, personally, don't like the food because it all has a strange taste to it to me, but they like it, so we go there. Neither they nor I will ever step foot in that...
Read moreThis is our 4th time at Main Street Pub and Eatery. We’ve really enjoyed the food here the first 3 times. I’ve had the Philly cheese steak with beef and have loved it. I had it again but this time it had little pieces of bone in it, but the flavor was good but I almost cracked a tooth. Also, we sat down, ordered our food and about 3 minutes later death metal music began to blare from a speaker literally directly beside my wife’s ear at the corner of our table. Music is what I do daily in front of speakers and this was very loud, even for me let alone right next to our table. Speaker placement was not thought out well at all. I realize it is a pub and Eatery but music right by your ear is not cool. My grandsons asked if they could turn it down, they did for one song and then it was back up. We won’t be back unfortunately. But, the food is awesome and the...
