This was my first time to Shipley’s in Hendersonville, TN. I went in to buy Kolache’s and donuts for my family (2 Adults and 5 kids). I had my two boys with me and was spoken to very rudely when I ordered 10 Kolache’s.
I was told very rudely that I cannot order more than 6 and they must be pre-ordered. I mentioned this was my first time there and I had a family of 7 and that I was not aware that I would need to pre-order that amount. The lady was very rude in the way she treated and spoke to me with a line of customers behind me. It was embarrassing.
I was shocked that I was refused service.
They had about 25 Kolache’s on hand at around 7:45am on a Saturday.
My recommendation would be to say, “Sir, if you do not mind pre-ordering more than 6 in the future that would help us better plan our stock.” while still serving me as a paying customer.
I asked the gentleman serving me, “Can she really talk to me that way?” And he said “Apparently she just did!”
My sons were very upset with how we were treated and let down having been refused service.
This is my first bad review...
Read moreAbsolutely love this donut shop. Locally owned and delicious. But may I suggest for the cashiers/food handlers to use tongs to put the donuts in the bag? We understand that food handling gloves are in short supply. There is one cashier that is constantly grabbing at her eyes, hair, nose, adjusting clothes, and mask while also handling cash. They start your order with putting their whole hand into the white bag where all of your donuts will lay, and use tissues to grab the donuts and leave the tissues in the same white bag. All of those surfaces and bodily fluids are left at the bottom of the white bag, and on the tissue she places in the bag with the donut your about to put in your mouth. Or just have one person handle cash, and the other person handle food only. Stay well...
Read moreShowed up over an hour before closing, only to be shown two trays of old donuts and told 'this is all we have'. No offer to, I don't know, MAKE DONUTS. Just two trays of stale garbage, take it or leave it. I was there to buy two-dozen donuts from of my favorite donut shop, only to find no one could be bothered make them, or even identify the stale donuts in the tray. This is the last place I can get Shipley's Donuts, and my schedule NEVER puts me in town while it's open, and then I FINALLY get there in time after no small rearranging of my schedule, but the donut shop doesn't feel like making donuts so I'm just out of...
