I love Mama D'S! Had a wonderful dinner Monday night out on their patio. Even though it isn't far form the hwy and is next to the parking lot for Lazy Acres it was cozy with heat lamps decorated lovely and we really weren't disturbed by cats or sounds. The meal was fantastic. We brought a bottle of wine with us and paid a $15 dollar corkage fee. They start you off with delicious warm slightly cheesy bread and a yummy dipping olive oil with garlic. I chose the gluten free pasta with a sauce of the specials menu brown butter sage. Absolutely amazing. My friend got a special and it was the same sauce I had and a short rib ravioli. My other firmed had the eggplant Parmigiano and it was so good also. I am putting pics up but sadly we had started to eat when I realized I had to take pics so hopefully still pretty lol. I think they have a fabulous selection of entrees and the specials change regularly and are all fresh. I highly recommend you go and get your Italian on here. It is nice sized portions I had plenty for lunch the next day and the price is nice. The staff was so wonderful and fun and cared about everything. They made the evening very nice. I absolutely can not wait to return. Do yourself a favor and hit Mama D'S Hermosa Beach ASAP. I suggest you peruse their wine and beer list they had quite a good selection. Such a fun spot to gather. Thanks for a...
Read moreFirst visit to Mama D's. We think their unofficial motto has to be "kill'em with kindness!" Everyone gets a slab or two per person of superb fresh garlic bread. Eat-in or take-out doesn't matter. Also provided is garlic olive oil dipping sauce. We shared their large vegetarian pizza, to which we added meatballs. WONDERFUL!!! They serve a thin crust pizza that has an excellent tomato sauce, and the toppings were generously applied. We took half of it home for dinner the next day. They also give you complimentary, warm chocolate chip cookies at the end of your meal. Service is excellent. Staff is very friendly, especially at answering all food or specials of the day questions. Downside, it's a pretty small restaurant, but it is worth the wait. Amazing selection of dishes. Can't wait to come back!!! Had our anniversary dinner from here. We got Pat's Baked Clams as a starter. WONDERFUL! 12 garlicky breaded classic in a wine sauce. The sauce is perfectly soaked up with their fresh baked bread. We also split Edgar's Spinich Ravioli in a fresh tomato sauce. The Ravioli was impeccably fresh! We also split Renee's Eggplant Parmigan with an added meatball and sausage. All brilliant! We actually had the clams and Ravioli on one night and the eggplant and sausage and meatball on another day. Both split portions fed...
Read moreOur waitress was wonderful however a man who seemingly was some sort of Manager or Owner comes up to us mid meal and starting chatting with us at first just small talk, then he makes a comment about us “not being able to hangout here” and then proceeds to sit at the table next to us and talks about how we’re talking forever and that we need to leave because there are people waiting for our table. Mind you this is before we even got our food. Once we got our food he got up and told our waitress to bring us the check most of us were not quite finished with our food and we had only been there for maybe 30 minutes and only 10 of that did we actually have food in front of us. Once we left I saw a couple of empty tables so I don’t know what he was complaining about. The thing that felt weird to me was that the party I was with consisted of a queer and Hispanic couple, I never saw the manager talk to any other tables either kinda weird if you ask me. Food and wait staff were great and the other locations seem to be fine but I’d avoid this one if you don’t want to be rushed...
