2024: Finally got to come here post Covid! I hate to say it, but it's just not the same.
The service was great! Friendly staff, never had to ask for anything and they weren't coming by the table so often that it interrupted the conversation. The place is old, but clean. I'd say that they can turn the music down a notch or two but it wasn't annoying.
The food... my main dish was not bad, but not nearly as good as I remember it being 3-5 years ago. It had decent flavor and was cooked well, but it wasn't amazing. The salsa had a funny taste to it, like the kind you get out of a jar which was disappointing. I used to get a big thing of salsa to go after eating here.
I can't quite figure out what's changed but I still hold out hope. I will continue to come here from time to time in the hopes that they bring back some of that old flavor.

2019: I have a very unhealthy love of Mexican Food. Lately everything I've eaten and used to eat regularly has been bland and just.. Disappointing. I was driving down Main St trying to find something to eat and stopped here.. Best decision ever. I ordered food to go since my 2 year old was not cooperating. They were patient waiting for me to order, they took the time to stop and entertain my son so I could breath.. And the best part.. The food was amazing! I can't even remember the last time I ate something that I didn't have to add salt to.. This place is no salt required quality lol. I wish I would have taken a picture before eating but honestly I devoured it so fast I'll have to go back and take my time on the next meal. Oh and Strawberry...
Read moreSo called this place to come in because they actually have a pretty decent food. My mom loves their chili Colorado burrito. They said they closed at 9 we said okay we are on the way down to order food. They said no problem and we get their 20 minutes later and they said they are closing early. With the door still unlocked. Damn must be nice to not need business, saw three other cars pull in and pull off. My order alone was going to be around $60 bucks before tip and yes I love to tip huge for great service which is getting so hard to find today. And who knows what the other cars were going to spend, when it comes end of business quarter or year and wondering why there isn’t more money remember you like to close early. Prolly missed out on an easy $200 dollars which if business is ran right the profit on that could’ve saved the day if is was that slow to close early. Or at least lighten the sting when payroll comes around. It sucks because we just came back from camping and want the bomb burritos. The journey continues for someone to take my money, the My taco hacienda also...
Read moreSerendipity! On our way to San Diego (from Vegas) and we think to stop for dinner since it would be pretty late if we wait until the end of our drive... so we google restaurants along our route... filter for "Mexican cuisine" and there are SO MANY. But scroll down a few and we saw Don Garcia's... we recently relocated from Washington and our very most favorite spot there (in Lacey Wa) was a Don Garcia's! So we decide that picking a restaurant is a gamble when traveling anyway, and we settle on this Don Garcia's for the name alone and hope it will be delicious... after all (lol) you can NEVER go wrong with chancing on a Mexican restaurant 😉 We enter a delightful establishment and whose face do we see on the menu??? The VERY SAME DON GARCIA!!! 😆 We both went for the Burrito Veggie (keeping it light tonight) with a side of Pico de Gallo (and guacamole) coke in a bottle and a flan to share... mmm... 😋 The flan here is #1! The burritos scrumptious! I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND. And it's convenient from I-15! Thank you to our server, and all the other associates here, for this happy...
