I never leave reviews because I honestly don’t care that much and I really don’t have the time to talk about my experiences but after this last weekend i feel like I’d be doing the whiskey barrel and their customers a disservice by not making them aware of the type of servers they’ve chosen to hire on top of the horrible experience other customers may be receiving by a particular new server. At least I think she’s new? I’ve been going to whiskey barrel since they opened and I’ve never seen this server there until this last weekend. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience at the whiskey barrel nor have I had a problem with any of their workers up until now. I’m actually shocked and embarrassed by the treatment my family received especially my grandmother while having a nice outing after doing some Christmas shopping. Now, I know my grandmother is a little slower and not as in shape as these 20 something year old servers but this woman is 80 and has had two knee replacements along with a stroke 3 years ago. Her gait is very unsteady and she has to walk slowly or she will lose her balance. My poor grandmother and I were walking out of the bathroom when suddenly this server with mid length brown hair that I’ve never seen before stops right in front of us all irritated and acting like she was to much in a hurry to care that my poor grandmother was trying to not lose her balance while she walked from the bathroom back to her table. I could see the irritation in this servers body language and face while she waved my grandmother along to hurry up and to get out of her way so she could fill up her drinks. While she was doing this she was telling my grandmother to hurry up and to come on rolling her eyes all flustered. My grandmother looked so panicked and if I wasn’t behind her she honestly would have lost her balance And fell with how impatient and apathetic this server was. I felt so bad and almost embarrassed for my grandmother. My grandmother is the sweetest woman. She always has a smile on her face. When I looked at my grandmother as the server apathetically and disrespectfully began to wave my grandmother along while it was obvious she had trouble moving along I saw my grandmothers face turn from smiling to complete shock and embarrassment. If you saw what happened you’d want to cry. How dare this server make anyone feel that way. She acted as if we were below her and as if we were just another set of people getting in her way and making her life miserable. I’ve worked in the service industry for many years and if I even dare treat any of my customers half as disrespectfully as this server did, I would have been fired on the spot. Im surprised she was even hired because she obviously doesn’t have any people skills and if her job is that stressful to make her panic in such a way where she can’t even slow down for an 80 year old women well all I can say is she doesn’t belong working in a restaurant especially in a position that deals with people. Not only was this server rude, I found that her poor attention and detail to her surroundings could possibly end in a safety hazard, injury and at worst, a lawsuit. She was rushing around and if my grandmother was two steps ahead she would have crashed right into my grandmother knocking her over because she wasn’t even looking at what was ahead of her until right before she almost ran into us and then started rudely waving us along and telling us to hurry up. I honestly don’t want to come back to the whiskey barrel for the simple fact I don’t even want to see this woman again because if I do I might lose it on her. On top of all of the rudeness and disrespect she showed my family that night, I couldn’t help but watch and notice her attitude after that. At one point I saw her screaming at another employee dramatically waving her arms around making a scene on top of talking to other customers about the drama she faced at work that night. I found it very unprofessional and it ruined my entire experience at the...
Read moreWe really wanted to go here because of the great vegan menu. Our family was resistant but ended up loving their food. The vegan tenders were just gardien but cooked nicely, the vegan tacos were dry but tasty. Our server was lovely and accomodating. Unfortunately the experience was tarnished by a hostess with long braids who acted super inconvenienced by seating a group of 11 at regular tables, since one elderly person felt uncomfortable sitting on a barstool. They eventually pushed some tables together in a way that impeded kitchen traffic and still didn't fit all of our party, although there were certainly other places and arrangements that would have been better. So we got lots of annoyed glances and even direct glares for the rest of the night. There is also an implicitly biased dress code outside the door more reminiscent of something we're trying to weed out in our small southern town than something I'd expect to encounter in California. All in all, it was strange to find such an inclusive menu was in such a noninclusive...
Read moreI'm sorry to say. But this place needs to do better. Need fabuloso on the floor. I walked in and the air smelled of vomit. The restroom smelled better ...
I told the lady at the register. All she responded was ew and walked away. Nothing against her but that's it?
The price is cheap but there's a reason..
I was served medium rare steak and it came out more rare than medium... SMH
I switched the fries for eggs and the plate came to me cold. My gosh....
The knife I was using was dull and pointless. The fork I was using was bending back and forth.
The food had no flavor.
I like this place but don't have high expectations on the food.
The guy next to me couldn't break the $20 bill neither could the register.
I wish I didn't have to share this comment but the people have to know..
I should have demanded more but I didn't have the energy to confront.
She asked me "how was the food?" and I stood quiet while my friend lied and said "it was good" but now his stomach hurts lol What...
