Very clean room, decent amount of space in the hotel room, AC works great and quite operation, rooms have recently been remolded, good price, friendly staff for the most part, light breakfast included, I couldn't hear the nearby freeway inside the room. So Why the 2 stars then? Tiny undersized parking lot with a limited 1 way entrance/exit. The only elevator was out of order and the stairs were not located in the middle for easy access but rather at the opposite side of the hotel. We were forced to walk the long hallways back and forth multiple times since we couldn't fit everything all at once in a nice big elevator. That's how it all started..... the following is what really made the entire experience a 2 star stay. This place had the WORST contractors hired for the remodeling job. Listed from least irritating to horribly irritated: the hallways are very narrow yet it's shared with washing machines and dryers on the corners of each hallway end - resulting in the stupidest idea and the most awkward interaction as other hotel users are trying to do their laundry and you are TRYING to politely walk by with your bulky luggage. The painter did NOT know how to paint or prep correctly for painting. There was purple paint all over the mirror, furniture and sides of the toilet. What REALLY drew attention to the piss poor painting quality was how uneven and jagged all the paint lines were - especially when there was 2 tones of colors being used. Almost everything hanging on the walls inside our room is extremely crooked. I mean seriously a 5 year old could have hung them better without a level. The main door entrance in our room had a 3 inch gap underneath it allowing all the bright light from the hallway to come in. I had to grab a large towel and make a draft door guard to block out the light so I could sleep. There was only one small waste basket in the entire room and it filled up immediately after we ate dinner from Apollos Burgers restaurant (was super delicious btw). The shower was nice but again the contractors didn't measure the distance for the hanging bar that holds the shower curtain and that was allowing all the water to drain outside the area of the shower. I had to shower in the far corner furthest away from the shower liner to help aid in less water splashing on it. This was the MOST frustrating design flaw as I quickly realized the entire bathroom floor and entry to the outside of the bathroom floor flooded within minutes. I had to go downstairs and request additional towels to soak up the water. They didn't offer to clean it up, not even a fake apology just a "here you go" - 1 more towel. Pictures uploaded. Further more, for others wondering about the light breakfast included - it was just ok. They didn't have the make your own Belgian Waffle electric cooker (my personal favorite), and they didn't have the passion fruit juice instead it was nasty tasting orange juice and decent apple juice. However they did have an electric mini waffles maker (just isn't the same texture compared to a Belgian Waffle) and some funky looking eggs and sausage steamer. The coffee was fresh and tasty with 3 different flavors and the cinnamon raisin pastries were fresh. If you are looking for a nice pool and a work out gym, you will be very dissatisfied with the size and availability of the equipment and pool. * edited for clarity...
Read moreMy husband and i stay in nice hotel suites all over the place as a mini vaca at least once a month. We both work alot and have 5 children so this is something we like to do to relax. We usually stay in hotels away from our local area, but inspite of all the holidays and traffic and not feeling to great from having colds we decided to try a hotel suite up here 30 mins from home. At $141.00 dollars a night for a hotel suite. We got room 103 at this la quinta, i am horrified, just horrified. We have stayed at many la quintas around the country. With that being said, We were exhausted when we got there, we noticed a musky smell as soon as we walked into the room. Kinda smacks you in the face. A smell mixture of mold, mildew and cigarette smoke. But being tired we heated up ate our tv dinners and as we were eating the cable tv was cutting in and out and having issues, ALSO there was this guy sitting in his car in the parking lot blasting his radio bass so LOUD we couldnt even hear the tv. As we finished our food that was when we started to notice just how dirty this room was. OMG, the mold in the tub jets was horrifing. I use to clean O.R. rooms so im a germaphobe. As i was looking at the jets i looked up at the vent on the ceiling and it was so dirty, clearly hasnt been dusted in years. Nothing gets wiped down in this room clearly. Everywhere i looked was dirty. As reflected in the pictures. Food, finger prints, dust, grime. The assistant manager renae claims she does a walk threw on the rooms every 3 days to inspect the cleanliness but clearly she must be blind to not notice the filthy room they rented us. Clearly nothing gets wiped down EVER. The heater was disgusting absolutely appaulling. We decided that it was just to gross to stay in. We went to the front desk and let the girl know how dirty the room was and she didnt even seem to care. She did not offer us a cleaner room and refused to refund us. We left and went home the next day i went back to the hotel to talk to the manager spoke to renae who said she was not a manager but then later stated she was assistant manager. I am absolutely disappointed with our experience at this hotel. They DO NOT care about their customers AT ALL. Because if they did care they would have made this situation right! Im not sure how this place even has a 4 star rating, this is a 1 star hotel. And i belive the BBB needs to investigate the intentions of this hotel's staff. I will make sure everyone up here in the high desert stays away from this dirty hotel by sharing with them my experience. If you do decide to stay here i would reccomend inspecting the room prior to paying, because if the room is filthy they will not give you a cleaner room or refund you. You are forced to pay for something that is TO dirty to stay in. BEWARE. Total scam. Im not sure how they have been getting away with this type of unsanitary conditions but they need to be investigated for sure.. STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreI stayed here for 11 nights and feel qualified to give the full scoop.
Customer service is FANTASTIC! I don't know the name of the girl that works evening shift, she's a short Hispanic lady late 30s! Over the top service!
Parking is free!
The rooms are taken care of based of the schedule you provide them on the 1st day. I suggest doing daily housekeeping if you need more than 2 towels because that's all they give you. The beds are average and so are the pillows. I will say that the curtains are a bit of a issue. You can never get them to fully close, so there is always light seeping in your room. So if you get a room that faces the pool, be ready for that sunlight to hit you in the eyes around 6am, not kidding lol.
The breakfast is horrible to say the least, in fact, this is main reason I can't give 5 stars. They provide oranges and apples but no bananas. The breakfast stays the same every day and the bagels are of very low quality. It's good if you are staying for a day or 2 but anything more will give a bad experience.
The lobby is beautiful and the table with the charging outlets makes it seem very professional. There is an outside sitting area as well if you'd like to bask in the sun.
The pool is crazy good! Super clean! I saw sand get it in the pool one windy night and the NEXT DAY they cleaned it up! I would rate it the cleanest hotel pool I've ever been to!
They have one washer and one dryer. I used em. The dry cost $1.25, the wash had varying prices: $1.75, $2.00, $2.25 which is determined if you click small, med or large load. None the less, this was the cheapest wash and dry I've experienced in a LONG time. I live in Houston, TX and it's not that cheap!
The washer and dryer is on the 2nd floor at the end of hallway on the left. I say this because the hotel has 0 ZERO SIGNAGE that tells you where to find the laundry area. Not on the 1st or 2nd floor.
Lastly, they DO NOT have a gym however, they have a contract with "The Gym" which is about 7mins away! If you are a part of the 2% of hotel goers that actually use the gym you are going to LOVE IT! Its like if you mixed the night club with crossfit, calisthenics, bodybuilding, powerlifting and exercise classes! Go experience "The Gym", the air in the gym will boost your testosterone and make you want to flex in a mirror!
There is a good amount of restaurants in walking range and the vallarte supermarket is about a 15min walk on side walk. I highly recommend going there and buying the Fresa Empanadas! I'm a food reviewer and that is the best grocery store Empanada I've ever had!
All in all, it's a great hotel. I never felt endangered and saw little to no homeless ppl. Can't give 5 stars because of...
