This place opened very recently, and I am honored to give them their first review! I tried their BEC (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese) biscuit, and I was happy to find that it was more filling than I expected it to be! Their biscuits are larger than the ones I'm used to seeing; if you're a two-biscuit person at Bojangles, you're definitely a one-biscuit person here! As for their atmosphere, it somewhat reminds me of a Lowes Foods, but perhaps a bit more utilitarian. It's not what I'm used to, but that's certainly not a bad thing! The prices here seemed a little high to me, but it IS near Downtown Hickory and in the same building as a brewery. I'm thinking they may be betting on walk-in business from people with a last-minute craving for chicken and waffles! Their credit card readers seem to have over-embraced tipping culture; the machine asked me to tip on the screen, and printed suggested tip amounts on my receipt, even though I placed my order at the counter! Also, I was a bit taken aback when the person asked me for my phone number; I assumed the restaurant would text me when my order was ready or something like that, but they didn't. So, it makes me wonder: how are they planning to use my phone number? All in all, I'd give this place a try if you have room in your budget. It's certainly a new experience, if nothing else!

We stopped on by here one Saturday morning for brunch and were not disappointed! Upon entering they have a nice outdoor patio out front with covered umbrellas and 6 or so tables inside with bar seating as well. The staff are great and helpful with anything needed. The line was long and the tables were full as this is definitely the place to be! This gave me time to dissect the menu for the perfect meal. I ended up getting the thick chick which is an extra crispy piece of chicken on house made biscuit with collards, cheddar cheese, bacon and sawmill gravy. And to say that is a mouthful is an understatement as this sandwich was massive! I also had to try the house made biscuit with brisket redeye gravy. This is shredded brisket and coffee gravy almost like au jus. As weird as this sounds it was actually pretty good and a must try for the adventurous type foodie. My wife got the hot chick. This was an extra crispy piece of chicken on house made biscuit with Nashville hot honey, pimento cheese, chow chow, and B&B pickle. This was also very tasty and paired well with the house made tater tots which are hash browns formed into small squares and fried in lard. For the true foodie looking for an amazing breakfast a little different than most, welcome home! This place is a must try!

While our power was out due to Hurricane Helene, we came to Hickory for a hot breakfast and cash before we went home again to deal with our no power, water or cell signal. We randomly stopped into Main Chick Jammin Biscuits, and the friendly service and delicious food almost brought tears to our eyes. The fried chicken was well spiced, the tater tots (made with lard) are amazing, so crispy. My only ding was the music inside was pretty loud, made it a little challenging to carry on a private conversation, especially when the morning rush really kicked in.

The food looks great and the atmosphere is really nice inside and out everyone seems to love that place .

A definite plus for downtown.

This review is about the wait times .

Theres never enough staff to handle the crowd. Lines of customers from the counter that wrap around the inside of the restaurant to the door and sometimes even standing outside with one person working the register thats never in any hurry.

One person on the register , one person working the floor and nobody has a second to talk if you have a question. Very crowded and hectic in there.

If you work for a delivery service such as uber eats , DoorDash , grub hub or any of those , this restaurant will probably be on you “no go” list unless the money is higher than normal because Your wait time will be exceedingly long here.

As a delivery driver, if you have to wait more than 10 minutes its not worth the wait even if it pays good and delivery companies know this . that’s why these delivery companies place the order long before the Driver gets there so I’m not sure why always the long wait times.

On top of that, there’s no clear place inside the store or any kind of a sign that directs you where to stand or who to ask for your delivery order.

After you go through this a few times as a Driver, You’ll think twice about braving that crowd to wait so long and flagging someone down to bother them so much .

The employees generally act like “why are you not standing in line with everyone else ?” Just rushing by the drivers standing there at the end of the counter , acting like we’re a problem.

I’m a man of a very long patient But you’ll eventually have to shove your phone in someone’s face to show them that you have an order and then they’ll act like the drivers are being impatient or rude . No mam , If we don’t do that, we’re never gonna get waited on , in turn the staff will just say “it’ll be a few more minutes on that order “ and walk off But you can clearly see they didn’t even check on the order. It’s insulting to the drivers And the customers who paid for that food.

This exact scenario happened to me the last two times I went in.

The last time I was there my order was behind the counter, FINISHED and bagged when I got there (I didn’t know it was my order )

I stood there over 15 minutes waiting For an order that had already been finished and after I had told the staff the Customer‘s name they didn’t even think enough to look at the one single bagged order on the counter.

I finally had to speak up and asked the lady rushing by me trying to avoid eye contact with me “whose order is that at the end of the counter. I’ve been here long time now” -

You guessed it , that order was my order that I had been waiting on for nearly 20 minutes and if I wouldn’t have said anything, who knows how long I would’ve been Standing there and everyone’s way. Of Course the customer now has cold food and they’ve not only paid for that food, but they've paid for the delivery, which is not cheap.

It’s not fair to the driver’s or the customer who paid for that delivery.

I’m sure everyone that works inside are great people. The lady that owns the business works so hard but , The whole delivery part of that business needs to be addressed and coordinated a lot better. It’s been like this for a long time.

In finishing , If you have a while and don’t mind waiting in long lines , I’m sure the...

Today was my daughter’s birthday so she wanted a different place to eat. We found this restaurant and gave it a try. Sadly to say we will never return. First we got 2 lattes. These cups were a kiddie size cup for $6 a piece. Second, My son dislikes condiments so he ordered his “Rodhiss” without the mustard, which is a very weird pairing with mustard and baked apples. They brought it to the table and the girl noticed there was mustard on it so she immediately took it back. She brought it back to our table and my son took a bite of it. Immediately took the top off and smelled it. They just scraped the mustard off. How do they think that’s ok number one and number two you can’t hide a mustard smell and taste. Just replace the biscuit. It’s not difficult. What if he had of been allergic to it? Very careless on their part. They took my biscuit and gravy to the table next to us and after all of our food got there I had to get up and ask for mine. None of the 3 of us enjoyed our food. The flavors did not pair well at all on anything we had. When we told the guy that they just scraped the mustard off he asked if we wanted another. We said no. His response was “believe it or not I can cook some stuff”. Ok ? Again this is just our personal experience and it was an unfortunate one. I’m sure there’s people who enjoy this place. I don’t care to spend money on good food. We spent $50 for two tiny lattes, two biscuits, biscuit and gravy, a liver mush and egg biscuit and 4oz of chicken...

If you're craving a unique perspective on traditional southern favorites, Main Chick Jammin' Biscuits serves them up so fresh you'd have to buy the farm, pluck the chickens, and pick the oranges yourself to get any closer to the source. Located in downtown Hickory just a couple of blocks from The Square, these folks are grinding their own sausage (which hits your plate as a serving larger than a fast food burger), squeezing OJ at the counter right in front of you, and slinging farm fresh eggs onto the fluffiest biscuit in Western NC (with homemade sawmill gravy if you ask nicely). If you're feeling more adventurous, order your chicken Nashville hot, or fling your taste buds farther east with some homemade kimchi on your bacon biscuit. You can quite literally taste how fresh everything on the menu is, and you'll suspect that someone's grandma is in the kitchen. Our crew of six ordered nearly one of everything on our first visit, and each one of us, ranged from age 7 to 50, said the same thing about every bite ... "This is great!" From the coffee, to their version of hashbrowns - a substantially sized cube with six crispy sides that will satisfy your crunch cravings for days - to the main dishes, everything was exceptional and more than reasonably priced for the quality of food and service. We found them online - as you likely have if you're reading this - and now we're telling everyone we know, and with this review, even...
