Country BBQ — Restaurant in High Point

I'm so saddened to leave a bad review, I don't usually do it but I am so disappointed and felt so disrespected by the assistant manager that was there a Saturday night. We went with our family that came from Florida to visit us for the first time here in NC, we have talked highly about this place and we're super excited to take them over there. When we arrived the server made a comment like she was annoyed by receiving our big group, but we didn't paid much attention to it. She took our drink order and came back to take the food order when she brought the drinks. As soon as she started asking what we wanted we asked for some chicken plates and she said ohh we don't have chicken, I asked for another plate she said sorry we are out of that too, my family said well since we wanted some of the chicken plates we decided that it was better to leave, but obviously we told the server immediately, since we hadn't even touched our drinks I asked if we needed to pay for those she said "of course you have" and we said ok, she went looking for the manager or assistant manager and when he came the first thing he said to my family was "what's the problem"? In an altered tone of voice, I simply said that we decided to leave cause they didn't have most of the things we wanted our family to try, he said you have to pay for your drinks, you know that? And I politely ask him if he thought that was fair, since no one had even touched their drinks, he said I will not take them back so you have to paid I told him no problem. Went to paid for them and I said I think it would have been nice if the server told us before hand that you guys were out of some items, and he said she didn't need to do so. He treated me and my family like we were bothering them or like he was doing a favor, we are a diverse family and it was very noticeable the discrimination towards us because of that. I don't think I'll go back, sadly it's a place where the food is delicious but with bad service and agressive behavior I would not feel comfortable going back. Went to Country Barbecue High Point on Saturday because I was in the area. Ordered peach cobbler with 2 meals. Went through drive-thru; looked in bag when I received order and saw two cups assuming baked beans and cobbler because I saw several little containers of barbecue sauce. Later that night when we ate supper, I discovered that the cups were baked beans and additional barbecue sauce. I have no idea why so much barbecue sauce and NO cobbler. I called back and spoke with the manager Aaron who told me to come back when in the area for the cobbler. I informed him that I live on the other side of Greensboro and would make the trip back on Monday. Well I just got back. He was not cordial, did not offer any apology for my trouble and when I asked if one cobbler was all I got for their mistake and my trouble, he just looked at me and walked away. This is POOR customer service. I've been in restaurants who gave complementary dessert for an error, to someone's order at my table. I know a cup of cobbler would not bankrupt them but it could have kept me happy and from telling people to please don't go to Country Barbecue in HP. At one time this was by far my favorite restaurant. Three strikes and your out!! I even let you get back up to bat two or three more times you have struck out. Well now you have been completely kicked off the team. This place has no idea how to get a drive-thu order correct. In this latest episode, the drive-thu forgot our hash browns. No big deal right. WRONG!! 3 people behind the counter one customer at the register. One of the ladies looked me dead in the eye. I lift it up the receipt showing I needed assistance. Again looked right at me. Walked right out from behind the counter and proceeded to pick trays up and take them back to clean them while I stood there with no one else at the counter. Blatant show of disrespect. This will be the last and final time I eat at country BBQ on HWY 68 in High Point. Sad thing is I have been eating at that restaurant since it opened its doors. Every family member that comes in from out of town that's where I take them. Never again! If you can't show me no more respect than that we're done.
