La Pizzeria — Restaurant in High Point

The food was good but way too expensive for what you get. Plus they charge a 2% fee if you pay with a debit card. I ordered a chef salad for $10.95. Expected it to be a meal. It was only in the large part of a 3 divider food tray and had lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, a couple cucumber slices, sliced ham & pepperoni, & cheese. It was fresh & tasted good, but not worth the price. They don't cut the large subs in half and forgot one of the 3 toppings I ordered. Also, i'll admit, I'm picky about ranch, but their's was quite bitter tasting and not very good. The fries are delicious, and so are the chicken subs, steak & cheese subs & wings. We stopped in to pick up a pizza and salad. From the parking lot, we didn't expect much. Inside, there was counter space and a handful of tables that were empty when we visited. This place may not get many that eat-in. Our pizza was ready and on time when promised. The person at the counter was friendly and gave us a discount for paying with cash. We like when we can save wherever we can. The price was good to begin with and the discount made it better. The pizza tasted great and was generous with cheese and sauce. This little place has a rather nice lunch buffet with a small salad bar, spaghetti with meat sauce, and 4 or 5 different pizzas. Though it is rather limited in size (no pasta salad, no potato salad), the veggies are fresh, and the Ranch Dressing is very nice.

Today the pizzas included Cheese, Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Veggie, Spinach, and Sausage, and all were nice, though I'm not a big fan of ham and pineapple on a pizza. The crust is thin, the tomato sauce has a nice zip to it, and the cheese is plentiful, and nicely stringy.
