Given BBQ Nation’s declining service, this new Indian establishment is a welcome addition to the High Point dining scene. There are a few areas for improvement, but there is also a lot of promise here. Housed in a plaza between Samet and Tinsley, Salt & Pepper can be difficult to find. Should you locate it, however, prepare to be impressed by the interior. The white and wood look is crisp, clean, and bright, and the chic bar area is an eye-catcher. Visual appeal extends to the menu as well, which has plenty of recognizable favorites: samosas, pakoras, tandooris, biryanis, masalas, naans, and desserts. As with many Indian eateries, there are quite a few vegetarian options. For our first visit, my wife and I shared vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis. The quintessential Indian combo platter, each thali came with an app (samosas/pakoras), rice, naan, a dipping sauce (tamarind), and two entries. Here the entrees were chef’s choice, and while that bit of mystery may unnerve those who want to know what they are ordering, we were willing to roll the dice. Overall, the food rates as good but not great. The non-veg thali came with chicken tikka masala and goat (?) saag. While the chicken was just short of overcooked, both sauces were excellent. The creamy tikka masala was one of the better versions I’ve had, and the hearty green saag was well-spiced and richly flavorful. The vegetarian thali came with palak paneer (usually one of our favorites) and a daal. While the creamed spinach was fine, the lentils were bland and, confusingly (the rest of the food was up to temperature) lukewarm. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Some confusion regarding the point of sales system caused a brief delay when paying the bill, but the matter was resolved quickly. Speaking of that bill, thanks to one of Salt & Pepper’s promo offers (BOGO entrees – seriously, check out their Facebook page), it ended up being a steal at $16+tax and tip, but even full fare would have been reasonable for the amount of food. Salt & Pepper may be the kind of place where you have to order carefully, but what they do well, they seem to do very well. Add a great-looking space and pleasant staff to the mix, and it gives High Pointers a good alternative to braving Wendover traffic to get to Taaza.

Food is always a delight. When choosing an Indian restaurant in High Point there are not many choices: - Salt and Pepper, with a small taste of fine dining and extra rice (you'll learn why later) - Shukkranaa Indian Restaurant, amazing food, weird ambiance. Delivered our dishes with half a bowl of rice. I look at the next table over - heaping pile spilling from his bowl. I asked for more because they skipped us on our rice, they say sure sorry. At the till they charge 11.99 for 3 extra rice. I let go of my masculinity for a moment and released my inner Karen. They removed the extra charges and I never walked back. - Agni Indian Restaurant and Bar, nice owner, refills rice, great authentic food, but his restaurant always smells like the 49s took a dump in the restroom and it's been simmering for 2 weeks. Please fix your plumbing issues and hire a company to paint your lines. Uplift your restraunt to bring in new customers. Until then it's Salt and Pepper for me.

05/24 - Todays’s highlight was Albina’s great service & smile, very good girl 👍 01/24 - Salt and Pepper consistently maintains high quality; I've been a patron for 2.5 years. The Pakistani BBQ platter, seekh kabob, Karahi, and the delightful makhani naans surpass even those in Lahore. The unchanged quality makes the 1.5-hour drive from RTP worthwhile. Highly recommended – they outshine Pakistani restaurants in New York and Chicago. A solid 5/5 stars from me! 11/23 - Salt & Pepper is, hands down, the best in the area. It offers the authentic taste of Pakistan that reminds me of home. With talented chefs and owners hailing from Pakistan, it's a culinary journey that truly captures the essence of this delicious cuisine. This is my 3rd trip, and I plan to keep coming, even if it means driving 1-2 hours for their perfect BBQ, Seekh kabob, and Paneer Tikka Masala – the taste hasn't changed in years. I 100% recommend it. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

I love it here! The staff members are welcoming and kind, and the food is fire (that's Californian for "AWESOME!")! Indian and Mexican foods are my "comfort" foods, and I had REALLY been missing Indian food. I came to this area from Torrance a few years ago, and I first had tried Indian food at a nice restaurant back in Austin, Texas, and I had missed the variety of international restaurants. However, this is my very favorite Indian restaurant I've ever been to.

Everything I've had here is delicious, but out of all the things I've tried, my favorites are the veggie samosas, palak paneer (paneer cheese with spinach), and this chili cauliflower (I can't remember what it's called, but it's delicious). They can prepare it in varying degrees of spiciness according to taste. I like spicy food, so "medium" is perfect for me, but you may want to start with "mild" if you're not sure. They have the usual selection of meat dishes, and they have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. The veggie dishes are my favorite.

NO one has ever been mean or rude to me here! I heard a few negative comments on other reviews, but they did not deserve that. The staff is GREAT! :-) The staff are always super kind. I think that the way people communicate across cultures can vary, and cultural differences may engender misunderstandings- with ALL respect, in USA we tend to be louder and bubblier- other cultures tend to be more low key. But they are ALWAYS nice and polite. They always welcome me and ask how I like my food, and make sure I'm happy with it.

Thank you Salt and Pepper, your food is fire and I am so grateful you're here. You're one of my favorite restaurants...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salt and Pepper Indian Cuisine and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. I can confidently say that this restaurant deserves every bit of its five-star rating.

First and foremost, the food was simply outstanding. As a lover of Indian cuisine, I have high expectations, and Salt and Pepper surpassed them effortlessly. The flavors were authentic, robust, and incredibly well-balanced. Each dish was a masterpiece in itself, showcasing the culinary skills and passion of the talented chefs. From the seekh kebab to the delectable Pakistani chicken Karahi, every bite was a burst of heavenly flavors that transported me to heaven

The service at Salt and Pepper was exemplary. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire dining experience. Manager knowledgeable about the menu, offering insightful suggestions and taking the time to explain the ingredients and cooking techniques behind each dish. The attention to detail and the genuine care they showed for our satisfaction truly elevated our dining experience.

Another aspect that impressed me was the cleanliness and hygiene maintained at the restaurant. The entire establishment was spotless, and the staff diligently followed all the necessary health and safety protocols, which is especially important in the current times we live in.

Lastly, the value for money at Salt and Pepper was exceptional. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable considering the quality and taste of the food. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that offers such an extraordinary dining experience without breaking the bank....
