This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in High Point. They have a broad menu with great variety. The bar is excellent. Giant margaritas. Super sized Dos Equis beers. The Pineapple Jalapeño margarita is unbelievable.
The food is great. No big surprises. Fresh ingredients. Above average rice. Standard combos and some signature dishes. The one surprise menu item I have been hooked on is the garden burrito. It is a massive burrito stuffed with tons of fresh vegetables and pineapple. Mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini, squash, onion, bell pepper and pineapple. Then topped with creamy cheese sauce. This isn't something I would generally order but it is so well prepared. It really fills me up and I feel good leaving without feeling like my heart is going to stop from meat grease and cheese. Not that I don't love Chori Pollo as much as anything. It's my go-to in many Mexican restaurants.
The food comes out quickly. It's always hot and fresh. The pricing is decent but a little higher than some other Mexican restaurants in town but for good reason. I would definitely invite my grandparents to this restaurant any day...
Read moreMy wife and I went here because she highly recommended this place from past visits.
2 stars because the lady who sat us was really nice and my food wasn't that bad. The rest of the experience was enough not to go back, however. The waiter was rude and instead of listening to my actual order, wanted to tell me I was wrong and proceeded to bring out the wrong food, which caused me to order a second side and get charged for it. The meal my wife (who, if you remember, is the one to have recommended this place) ordered caused her to get sick after 3 bites. When we asked the manager to come out to take the food off the ticket, he immediately said, "That table ordered this, that table ordered this.... you don't get sick that fast - it must have been something from earlier." This completely dismissed the entire situation and left any accountability to us. He did take the meal off after some conversation, but how he handled it was unprofessional. I do...
Read moreAs the waitress brought the plate to the table I was greeted with mounds of succulent chicken bathed in a rich cheese sauce and all bound in a soft buttery tortilla. I added 2 spoonfuls of the savory black beans and a light dollop of the tangy salsa.
When I bit into this buffet of complementary colors and flavors my eyes rolled back with the blissful knowledge that my menu and restaurant choice were both everything I had wanted and more.
Steak is well seasoned and juicy while not being fatty. The shrimp was spiced beautifully while still having its natural flavor available.
While this looks like a hole in the wall, the food is Oh My God good and the service is fast, attentive, and...
