Unwind Bar + Cafe — Restaurant in High Point

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, and I’m so glad I did. A super chill lounge for the grown and sexy. The live music and DJ was great. We ordered mozzarella sticks, fries, and wings, and they were delivered hot and timely. The drinks were fine for what they were. I started with a margarita and wasn’t impressed with the mixer so I switched to Don Julio on the rocks. My date was drinking Patron and pineapple. We started at the bar and moved outside so that we could talk. The server/bartender was fast, attentive, and polite. It was a good time and chill vibes all around- until the check came. This is when she proceeded to explain to me that I was being charged $24 for Don julio on the rocks because “on the rocks” meant she’s pouring a double. Lady, please… in what world?? I did not ask for a double, nor did I notice that I had received any type of generous pour. Communication is important is every interaction, and I wish she had just asked before making some crazy assumption. That left a bad taste in my mouth and, while I will return, I’ll probably just stick to a beer so there’s no confusion about literally the most simple drink...

I recently moved to the High Point area and was about a month away from celebrating my birthday. I found Unwind on Main and spoke with the owner about placing an order for chicken wings. Needless to say my guests were very pleased to the point where I didn’t get the opportunity to taste the wings myself! Therefore, I went to visit Unwind on a personal visit and found the atmosphere to be very inviting. Unwind offers live music, food, my favorite drink, and friendly people working in the establishment as well as those visiting. Since my first visit I have returned quite often. Unwind is small and cozy but still has enough space to get your groove on and since I love dancing/line dancing you can bet to find me on the floor! This is my new spot to drink, dance, and chill. The staff was very inviting and friendly but the food and drinks were not good at all. I personally did not order food but my friends did and they were not pleased. From what I saw, the food seemed like store bought frozen rather than fresh/house-made. I ordered a margarita which was terrible. I typically enjoy margaritas, as when made properly, they are not too sweet and are a simple refreshing go-to that is hard to mess up. However, this margarita tasted like a store bought mix filled with sugar. The mix was so strong I was unable to even taste even a hint of tequila. After two sips I gave up trying to drink it.
