I was excited and anticipating the opening of the first Jollibee branch here in Oregon for two years since they announced that they will open one here near Portland because of nostalgia and a taste of good Filipino fast food restaurant. Every time we visit family in the BayArea we never fail to stop at Jollibee and have some of our favorite palabok, burger steak with that mushroom gravy and Jollibee burgers and whenever we miss eating at Jollibee we will drive more than two hours to go to their branch in Washington, that's how good Jollibee in other places is, so I'm so deeply disappointed when the Jollibee here in Oregon have smaller menu than what is typically found at Jollibee locations in the Philippines and some other U.S. cities. The excitement died down when I found out that they only have chicken joy, spaghetti and chicken sandwich on the menu plus some add ons like mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, in my opinion is lacking and should not be there. Why a Filipino fast food restaurant is trying so hard to change its food culture to adapt to a more american taste? WHY?! My family and I don't travel to California or Washington for just the chicken! We travel to other Jollibee branch to eat the usual favorites in the Jollibee menu not some watered-down version of a menu to appeal to some people who doesn't really care about Jollibee's culture of nostalgia and food you can eat in Jollibee Philippines. If this Jollibee branch here in Oregon continues to just serve limited menu of just chicken and not gonna include the original menu of other successful Jollibee branch around the world then I'm sorry to say you will not last, I would rather drive more than two hours to the Jollibee branch in Washington and get my favorite palabok and burger steak than continue going here to this branch in Hillsboro and be disappointed over and over again. So please stop this limited menu and offer the full menu already! You already making a big mistake of just having chicken on your menu. You're turning off your...
Read moreOPENING WEEKEND REVIEW: we got there at 6am on a Sunday to be the first 50 to get free bucket hats. So speaking from just my experience, it was all so organized for an extremely hyped opening weekend. The staff were so friendly and got there to greet us all and talk with us 2 hours before opening, we were given numbers to tell us the order we were in for our hats. We had canopy’s covering us from the sun. The drive through line was organized by staff waving them in for order. Logistics, it was great.
We ordered while in line, then when they let us in a few people at a time to grab our food, we were greeted with all welcoming friendly staff, paid for our food, and they gave us our to-go bag which was could eat inside.
The location is obviously clean, but definitely smaller than usual jollibees I’ve been to, it was the size of a mall jollibee with one long communal table, a few booths, and a few seats spread out. Then we exit through another door.
FOOD: it’s a limited menu for the opening week, and we could only order up to $80 worth of food. I got the combo B with a 6 chicken bucket, big family size spaghetti tray, 3 mango pies, 2 gravy. Added another bucket of 6. Adobo rice. And pineapple quencher. Off the bat, jollibee baby, still can’t believe it’s here. It had all the tastes, and the adobo rice was so garlicky and great. The chicken though, had the usual flavor of jollibee but I think the bath I got was a bit less crispy than say Daly City or Washington. But still delicious.
We brought everything home to air fry later and it was even crispier than originally. So good.
Overall, the hospitality, the kindness, organization for an event like this, DJ, merch…. All the things, and Jollibee themselves. 5/5, no notes right now and will see how it goes once they introduce the yum burger and...
Read moreFinally! A favorite restaurant that I haven't been to, since I was in my childhood, has opened literally 5 minutes away from me, in the PNW (Oregon). We were among the first to try it out, on the first day, as we wanted from 8:30am to noon (3 hours in line) for some delicious Jolibee food. We've been here a total of 7 times sincw then, and every Jolibee experience has been more delicious and memorable since the last one. For newcomers, I highly suggest the spicy chicken (with rice and gravy), the chicken sandwich (spicy) and the peach mango pies (to die for). Everytime we come here, we are met with Jolly employees who greet us with a smile and warm feeling. The food is delicious and excellent, on the first day (as expected) the chicken was subpar, but every subsequent visit, we had crispy excellently cooked chicken. The gravy is amazing, so is the rice combined with it. I have to highlight a couple employees, first Joseph, great dude with even greater customer service, he is a very helpful fellow and gave us great input in regards to how Jolibee came about in the very beginning! He even cleaned our tables for us! Joseph is a keeper for Jolibee Tanasbourne! And also Janis Acosta, with implacable customer service as well and also gave us insight into this Jolibee location and when to expect the full menu to be implemented. My wife and I had a delightful conversation with her, taking the time out of her busy duties to make sure our food was good and our experience was excellent. Thanks to the entire Jolibee Tanasbourne staff and especially to these two employees, we feel like Jolibee is THE place to go in Oregon. It is June 19 at 11am, and the lines are non existent, come on by! You won't regret it! A taste of the Philippines in the...
