It was our first time visiting this establishment. The entrance was inviting, the host was nice. The atmosphere was very comforting, clean and inviting. The server was kind, and attentive. She gave us time to order, filled our glasses with water and took our order.
Since it was our first time, we were excited to try the food. Unfortunately we did not take any pictures. Presentation on the entrees (Red Curry Salmon and Grilled Shrimp) was well put together. We ordered a two kid's meal entrees: chicken teriyaki and Chow Mein; appetizer included the spring roll. We were highly disappointed with the meal.
Red Curry Salmon: The salmon seemed to be frozen and thawed out. It was not seasoned a all. The red curry sauce that was on top of the salmon was okay. The bed of steamed vegetables that the salmon laid on top of was not seasoned as well. A little salt and pepper would have helped.
Grilled Shrimp: When the menu says grilled shrimp...the shrimp should be grilled!!! There were no grill marks on the shrimp, no grill flavor and the same steamed vegetables were bland.
Kid's Chow Mein: overly sauced! it seems if I turned the plate upside down, the chow mein would have stayed on the plate.
Kid's Chicken Teriyaki: my son said he would give it 3/5.
Spring Roll: both were not rolled tightly enough. After the first bite, everything seemed to come out. The peanut sauces was also bland...just tasted like peanut butter with water added.
When we have leftovers, we usually will take it home. We had vegetables, leftover, chow mein, a little bit of salmon...the server asked us if we wanted a box...we told her we were okay, didn't want one.
The sake fruit flight was a nice touch. I really wish the food was better. Maybe it was a bad night, the chef was sick, understaffed, it could be any reason. It's just unfortunate that the food did not do it for us. I am a big believer in giving an establishment another chance; perhaps we will.
Last, the wellness charge? Come on owners, this is your responsibility if you want to offer this to...
Read moreBeen here twice. First time I saw it was 30 minutes to closing time as I approached door and read the postes hours and I turned to walk away (I don't like coming in that late to a restaurant). The hostess waved me in, almost insisting I stay and I did and it was good and I left my usual 25 percent tip.
Second visit, the first thing the waitress with tats on forearm said was that they closed in an hour. It was 8 pm and they closed at 9 pm. I knew this, having still retained my ability to read the hours posted on the door and being able to tell time. I'm a good customer and good tipper and I didn't want to inconvenience her with my money so I left, won't be back, and made sure to share this experience here. She was actually my server the first visit. This second visit was also a date so I'd like to thank her for being a great wingwoman. My date and I went to BJ's, where we discussed how we'd hit Mio or Yuki next time.
I know many say they are in the business but I have worked as a bartender for 20 years until 2 years ago. I do know the business and I know you don't deserve tips just because you deigned to show up for work.
By the way, we finished our dinner at...
Read moreWent there last night with friends at 8:30 pm. The host barely even let us enter the door before shouting table for how many. We are literally opening the door at the time. No smile no greeting nothing. We are still removing our jackets and he server asks us what would you like to drink besides water. Would have loved a chance to sit down open the drink menu and look. There were hardly 3 tables occupied at the time. Yet again quality of food as is the case in most restaurants now is inconsistent. The tempura was dripping with oil. Ordered veg sushi roll and requested no daikon instead one stem of fried asparagus in the one roll. we were told sorry that will cost extra. We then ordered a veg noodle entree and the after taste was pathetic. requested the server to change the dish if possible as the after taste of whatever was in it was not good. She told us she can get us another dish but will charge us for this one and she can box it up. We were like no thanks. We ate a few bites and left the entire entree on the table. Both of us who ate a few bites of the pasta were sick all last night. The servers really need to learn how to...
