Mio Sushi — Restaurant in Hillsboro

This is a weekly lunch spot . My mother and myself like to come once a week , and rarely miss. Mio Sushi is a small unassuming little restaurant, with a easy to find location with plenty of parking, seeing that it is located in a strip mall. My mom uses a walker and is always able to find a spot close. What I like about this place is it's consistency. I can always count on the sushi being fresh as can be, the tempura batter is never too greasy because they obviously clean frequently. We usually get the same server who is warm and friendly, and ALWAYS remembers what we usually order. If it's your first time I would recommend their cucumber salad as a starter in these hot summer months. It is light and crisp, with a simple vinegar based dressing that is sweet and tart at the same time. If that's not for you their tempura is excellent and you get 2 pieces of the shrimp, along with beans, carrot, some sort of squash or gourd, and yummy sauce to dip it in. If you want a well rounded sushi plate I would order the lunch special "B" you get the usual cuts, along with the California rolls, ginger, wasabi. In all about 6-8pieces of sushi and 4-6 of the rolls.*disclaimer: these amounts are approximate and you should not make the proprietor accountable for any mistakes I may have made. Trust me, you will get plenty. They also have a very well rounded menu that includes: sushi, sashimi, bento, ramen, dim sum-like dishes, and more. It is reasonably priced and the lunch specials even more so. I highly recommend this place. They close at 2pm, then open back up for dinner again around 4-5. Before I ate here I never considered myself much of a fan of sushi. I had been to other sushi places with friends and friends if family in the past and always considered it a little bland and unpleasantly fishy. Like the freshness just wasn't up to par. Basically, my sushi experience has always left more to be desired. Now I'm a huge fan of sushi in all of its many forms and it's entirely thanks to this restaurant. Without fail, this restaurant delivers delicious sushi every single time. There's something for everybody here. You can get an incredible and diverse list of sushi, or you could go for a type of soup, or maybe even a nice shrimp tempura if you're with somebody wanting something more cooked. And the sake list is delicious as well, plus it pairs well with any of the sushi you have here. It's a fabulous experience to have a massive plate of your favorite sushi rolls brought out before you like a plate of careful cut jewels on rice.

If you're gonna have sushi every single weekend or if you just wanna try sushi for the first time ever, I'd recommend...

First off we love this place and I can explain the rating as well. This was the first time my wife and I came to this place. First off they were really nice here and accommodating knew how to fix us exactly what we wanted even though it wasn't on the menu but they had the ingredients to make us what we wanted so it was great, and I had a food allergy so they made sure to accommodate that for us. We will be sure to come back we absolutely love them. Plus the rolls were nice and tight and stayed together you could pick it up with your fingers or your chopsticks or a fork whichever you like. I took the fingers and chopsticks methods to eat my food. So we got some Sushi Rolls. A Bento Box with three items and a Yakisoba. We loved all the food. The prices actually aren't bad we just bought a lot of food so it costed us, but we were having a little data night via at home with some great takeout, since currently their location isn't open to diner's.
