Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Hillside

In my opinion one of the better of the Popeyes in the area and the atmosphere is friendly in my opinion (except when it's really busy and everyone is waiting for their dang chicken lol.) I've had their chicken multiple times over the past decade or two and honestly the chicken used to be dry as anything but I went there today i have no idea what y'all did but nowadays the bone in chicken just hits different. The bone in chicken was juicy and crispy throughout the entire chicken. The white meat could differ a little more from the dark meat but I think both were very good. The wing was a bit meh but the breast and thigh that's what it's all about. I think you just gotta go there right when it's fresh for the day but when it is hot and juicy well just scroll through the pictures!

The tenders on the other hand were a little bit undercooked which was fine after putting them in the microwave and me and my dog Tito enjoyed them. The taste was a little off and honestly I would choose burger king chicken fries over these tenders. idk they're pretty big I was expecting like just a smaller tender not a whole super big thing. Either way love the staff over there so please if you're in the area go and support this local popeyes but stick with the bone in and that sweet heat sauce (kind of like a Thai sauce) is very good as well with the spicy version of the chicken.

Also I used the apps for the rewards and offers which I don't think a lot of people don't know about but I got all this food was only $6 with the points I had saved up and the offer I used so it's totally worth it to get it on the iOS or playstore. It might also be cool at some point to get special deals for other locations such as BK when you order...

Going to this Popeyes in Hillside was the worst experience of my life I ordered my food at 9 p.m. and at 9:35 I still didn't have any food my order came up to $38.27 I asked the manager on duty for refund her and her staff giggling behind the line after the third time me asking her she told me that she did not know how to give a refund and had to call another manager to find out how 15 minutes later she proceeded to give me a refund but then told me that I wasn't entitled to the receipt showing that the money was returned back to my debit card going back and forth with her for about another 5 minutes finally got my receipt and drove to the next Popeye's on Elizabeth Avenue where I was in and out of there with the same order and 6 minutes needless to say Popeyes in Hillside is the worst I wasn't the only one that had a bad experience at night there was several other people waiting for more than 20 minutes for food instead of cooking the food they were talkin and breaking down the line she didn't offer anything to the customer nor did she state that the food would be out shortly her and her stuff to set up behind the line and talked the customer service there was the worst ever as a manager she should have said something about the time offered people other things and told them that what they order she didn't have or that it will be a long wait time instead she did nothing but talked about what she did last night I believe that her and her staff needs to go back to training all of this took place on June20th if you need your food in a timely manner you might as well just travel to the hood on Elizabeth Avenue you'll get...

Absolutely Horrible Experience — DO NOT COME HERE

I placed an order online and PAID for it in full, only to show up and be told that they didn’t even have the items I ordered. No one called, no update was given, nothing. When I asked to cancel the order or get a refund so I could take my business to a different location, I was told they couldn’t do anything about it — not cancel it, not refund it, nothing. I was completely stuck.

On top of that, the food attendant was extremely rude and clearly aggravated with me — as if I was in the wrong for walking into an open restaurant to pick up an order I had already paid for. His tone, body language, and dismissive attitude were unprofessional and disrespectful. Every single worker in that store had an attitude, like customer service is beneath them.

As a result of their disorganization and lack of accountability, my children went without a complete meal. I had to go out of my way to find another place, wasting time, gas, and energy — all for something that was supposed to be quick and convenient.

This is unfortunately the location closest to me, but I will never return. If you’re looking for a reliable Popeyes, AVOID THIS ONE AT ALL COSTS. They’ll mess up your order, treat you like garbage, and offer no resolution.
