We have been to almost all of the SERG group restaurants over the years and this was our first bad experience.
We arrived for our 7:30 reservations, to an empty front host area. After 5-10 minutes, a staff finally appeared and did the right thing by asking who was first, since there was now a group people waiting to be seated. The staff proceeded to assist everyone there as well as answered the phone several times, not necessarily their fault but it took a good 20 minutes total to be seated — not great service considering we had a reservation.
Once seated, the server came out promptly and we ordered drinks and an appetizer, which arrived quickly. When we ordered entrees, the server mentioned that she would make sure the appetizers were put in before the entrees so they would arrive first. — Red flag number one as we didn’t order the appetizers and entrees together, so why wouldn’t the kitchen be able to handle that naturally? Fast forward 30 minutes and a 2nd drink has been ordered and arrived with an update that our entrees would be out shortly. Fast forward an additional 20 minutes and our food still has not arrived, but the table beside us that sat down 20 minutes after we did had their burgers. At this point we flagged down our waitress who had been actively avoiding us during this time. She assured us that the food “was being plated” and even asked if we needed anything. I only asked for water since my cup had long since been empty. Another 15 minutes pass and still no food. We flag down the waitress again, reminded her that it was now 90 minutes since we arrived and still had not received our entrees. Our waitress proceeded to tell us that even though our seating area looked empty, they were “at capacity outside”. She then wanted to collect our appetizer “Fry board” even though that was literally the only food we had available to us for the past 90 minutes. No apology, but she was able to march to the back corner and talk about us to another customer who I assume was a close friend/regular. Finally at 9:10 our food arrived: a Beet salad and the Waygu burger. I struggled to figure out why the plating took 25 minutes if we are still believing the waitress at this point. In all reality, she likely held the order, got busy and they put it in once we flagged her down initially. Regardless, very poor...
Read moreVery happy they have $25.00 Wagyu Beef Burgers! That was the only good thing. We decided to eat here on Saturday 4.15.23 around 3pm our server a young woman seemed to not want to be bothered by anything since she was sitting at a booth when the host sat us down. She was not personable and seemed to be bothered by us ordering. I ordered the $25.00 single Wagyu Beef Burger (not sure how many ounces weight was not on the menu, but it was smaller than the bun. I ordered a side of hand cut chips. (Picture attached are the over fried chips, probably sitting around for days). My wife had a chicken wrap which tasted like defrosted chicken since it tasted rubbery. I had to flag down my server for another beer then again for another. She disappeared after this. We were done with this lack of service and decided to pay our check and leave. I walked to the front to find our server and she was nowhere to be found. The restaurant may have had 1 other table there, so not too busy. There were several employees around, but no one could assist me with my bill. Then finally 1 guy said he could assist since my server was nowhere to be found I believe he said his name was Dave, the manager who then pulled up my check when magically our server came out of the kitchen and said that she would handle it. Thank you, Dave, for completing my payment because I had the opportunity to explain what kind of service we received, and he recommended a course correction for this young lady. There are plenty of other restaurants to go to, but we decided to go to Charbar (SERG Group) we are part of the SERG Rewards, and you promote the BEST Burger, and the reason why is because it is Wagyu Beef which...
Read moreCame in for restaurant week special. Waitress was Jada and from a service perspective it was a very careless experience. I watched her talk to the host for 15 and 20 min increments without checking on us. After our food was delivered I needed condiments and I kept looking at her trying to get her attention and she still did not come over for over 15 minutes. The restaurant week special is a relatively small plate so by the time she came our food was practically gone. She set the condiments down and walked right back to her coworkers to talk for another 15-20 mins. After I finished what fries were left we stared at her without response until I finally had to get up and had to interrupt her conversation with the host to ask if she had put in our dessert or if she could because we had been waiting 15 minutes since we finished with dirty plates on the table. Her only response was she was sorry she forgot our dessert. After dessert was delivered she waited ten minutes and brought out the check, didn’t ask how any of the food was or if we needed anything else and started dancing to the music while my boyfriend paid the check on their mobile device. I know this is not SERG standards so I’m just very disappointed. I left 15% because I know she will still tip out for this meal and I hate to stiff a server but this experience was not worth the tip or the money spent on the food, which was greasy but a...
