WORST FOOD & EXPERIENCE If I could give zero stars, I would. Everything from ordering to picking up and lastly the taste of the food was horrendous. With the pandemic, we ordered take out. The order taker is inept and clueless. We ordered 2 ramens, 1 yaki udon, 1 pho, 1 sweet and sour chicken, and gyoza. The pho was rare beef and they put raw beef on the noodles. While I understand that when they make pho and pour hot soup over the noodles and beef, it cooks the beef but they cannot assume that we have the ability to heat up the soup to cook the beef. You should know that Hilton Head during summers are full of vacationers that may not have cooking kitchens. The raw beef should have been separately packaged to avoid cross contamination. The dinners came without silverware and no chopsticks to eat the 4 noodle dishes with. The worst offense of it all is the taste. None of the dishes tasted anything close to what it should. The Ramen noodles are cheap noodles. The soup is bland and tasteless. The yaki udon is a gummy mess that was also tasteless. We didn't eat the pho because we couldn't cook it or make the soup hot enough. This is the worst experience. Your website story relays about how chefs can get complacent and that you decided to try something new. Maybe your complacency has continued and has caused you to not be in your kitchen anymore and that you don't taste your food before it goes out because if you did, you would change your recipe or train your cooks better. Yes, I purposely used the word "cooks" instead of chefs because it is exactly how the food tastes like. It tastes like cafeteria food. I know this review is harsh but after having spent $90 and getting what we got, it is deserving and apropos. Oh, and the cook making our food wasn't...
Read moreWould have given 5 stars in past. Travel to HH multiple times a year and this was always a place we’d visit. Today, we ordered at 12. The person taking order had to repeat order 3 times. Fine. Said 15 minutes. Arrived and order was wrong. Asked how long it would take to add the forgotten items. 5 minutes. Waited another 25. Told them half way to cancel bc we had to get back for our son to join a class call. They wouldn’t (“couldn’t”) cancel. Asked for some partial refund or anything bc it was issue after issue. Ultimately, the owner was right there and didn’t seem to care. Want to quibble over $20 when we spend $300+ a week with you each time we’re here? No problem, go ahead and be a foolish business owner but we will never return. Food isn’t what it used to be anyway and hopefully more Asian options will become available in time. As business owners, I’d be embarrassed if my team promised something and failed spectacularly. And you can be darn sure I’d make it right.
Update: They forgot rice for the rice dishes, and the photo shows how much broth they gave for the ramen. Pathetic. They must be struggling and it’s no wonder. That’s what happens when you don’t take care of your customers and try to take shortcuts...
Read moreHave been coming to relish for many years, it was one of my favorite Asian restaurants on the island. Walked in tonight and thought there was an event or something with how nice the place looked, then saw the menu changes, and then overheard someone talking to a table saying they were the new owner. They added a lot of Thai dishes to the menu but my two favorite things previously were the spicy miso ramen and the general tso’s chicken. Everything is more expensive now. The miso ramen was $26 and chicken was $20 so since it was a new owner I went with the cheaper option. I was hoping it would be the same delicious juicy and crispy chicken in a very well balanced homemade sauce that I’m used to but unfortunately it wasn’t. The chicken was firm like it was frozen, not juicy but not dry, and not crispy like many visits before. The only thing I could taste in the sauce was vinegar. It really wasn’t any better than a PF changs or something you get frozen at the grocery store which is a huge disappointment compared to what it was previously, and now it costs more money. I will be back in a few months and try...
