Thank you for the response and explanation. Five staff members calling out on the same day makes it rough on everyone. I plan to return soon and increased rating due to the unforeseen terrible circumstances.
This review is directed towards the lack of personnel and poor scheduling. Stopped in for lunch on Friday, beginning of March Madness. I really did not require any assistance from a hostess and a good thing because there was no one stationed at the stand. There we about 15 people sitting around the bar, which is where I chose to sit. Also, another 25 to 30 people sitting at tables near the bar. The bartender was the only person working the bar and tables. No possible way that one person is able to take an order, return to the bar to input the order, prepare drinks for the order, and return them to the guest's table while maintaining contact with the remaining guests. The bartender is very personable, knowledgeable, professional, and seems like a nice person. He assists with items due to having food allergies. I placed the food order with the bartender along with a red wine. The food arrives and I start looking around, no rollup has been provided. Bartender is too busy for me to gain his attention, so I walk a few bar stools away and grab a few paper towels from a roll sitting in the bar. The bacon cheeseburger and fries are good and enjoying them until I have nothing to drink. Bartender stands directly in front of me while keying in an order, I ask for another wine when you have a chance. The reply was to verify the wine I had been drinking and stated back in a moment or something similar. Well, I'm still waiting on the glass of wine. After about 10 to 15 minutes of pretty much waiting along with a couple more bites of food, I call it quits. Hamburger had gotten too cold and now a slight rubbery texture, which required liquid to wash down, of which I have none. During this time I watched one person seated on the other side of the bar, get up, walk to the other side of the bar to speak with the bartender. Something to the effect, I have been sitting at the bar for at least 10 minutes and no one has come over for an order. It is time to go, so I wait and wait, until bartender is keying in another order directly in front of me, and I ask for the check. Now, the bartender asks if I would like another glass of wine. It would not have helped anything, but wanted to say, yes that would have been great about 20 minutes ago. I receive the check and bartender has to attend to other guests. I waited for a few minutes and thought I had already been waiting on a glass of wine for half an hour and still waiting and not waiting that long to pay, so I dropped money on the bar and out the door.
I just closed on my new home and live nearby, so I'm looking for a decent place within walking distance. I'm not sure yet whether I plan to return or not.
Whoever is in charge of scheduling really missed it this time. I am guessing that tips had to be below the norm and how much business may have been lost as guests may...
Read moreStopped in here on Tuesday July 9th for lunch after a round of mini golf. Had a very mixed experience. First off, this place is immaculate, one of the cleanest and best kept restaurants I've ever seen. It also has a great atmosphere, a cool and well maintained little game room, and seems like a wonderful place to catch a sporting event. A lot of pride in ownership at this sports bar.
Food wise, we had a mixed experience. We ordered fried pickles (very good), two burgers, a turkey club, and an Italian sandwich. The burgers were very good but the onion ring sides were not prepared well. They seemed like someone just cut some onions up, dredged them in flour, and threw them in the fryer. They were delivered gummy, soggy, with the breading basically falling off uncooked onions, not good. My son's Turkey club was pretty good, a little big and messy but quality ingredients and the fries were crisp and delicious. My daughter's Italian sandwich was the biggest disappointment. It's a big sandwich loaded with salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, and capicola ham. The ham was very tough and rubbery, and the sandwich itself was doused in vinegar and oil to the point that the bottom part of the grinder roll was falling apart and mushy. She couldn't eat it and instead had the other half of my son's turkey club which was large enough for two. Despite the one bad sandwich and the onion rings, I think the food is pretty decent if you order the right item.
The main reason for my 3 star review was a very poor experience with a server/manager at the end of our visit. My kids had been playing in the game room most of our visit and close to the time we were leaving, my daughter dropped a soda glass with a little sprite near the pool tables. The cup hit the floor and a little bit splattered up onto the rails of the pool tables and maybe a few drops on the felt. My wife quickly cleaned it up before it had a chance to even soak into the fabric. Our waitress, who I think may have also been a manager, came over and proceeded to chew them out, and give the death stare to both my wife and 10-year-old daughter. She lectured us about how children were not allowed to play pool unsupervised (they weren't playing pool, just walking by) and really offered no grace for what was an honest mistake. My wife and I are both ex-military and very much rule followers; we apologized multiple times for the mishap, offered to pay for damages even though there weren't any, but the waitress/manager never accepted our apology and did nothing other than make us feel s* about it. She even at one point commented about how the restaurant owner was a cop, somehow suggesting that the spilled soda was more serious because of their involvement in law enforcement, very bizarre.
I paid our bill and we left with my daughter in tears and my son a little shaken up. Not a great...
Read more12:45 Was told to sit anywhere as there only 3 others tables occupied in the entire place. Sat down at an 8 top as we had 7 in our group. Was questioned by the first server that approached. Wanted to know why the others in our group were not with us (yet) . After convincing him we would have 7, he took my wife’s drink order. I had to ask if I could order as well, weird he didn’t take both our orders. Seconds later, an unfriendly woman told use we would have to move to allow for this party 8. Plenty of other tables to accompany 8 elsewhere in the restaurant. Our table must have been special…. We decided to move to the empty bar. When we walked up there were 3 bar tenders. Upon sitting down, all 3 disappeared. Weird… aren’t they supposed to take your order, not just disappear. The original server walks up to tell me he canceled our drink order because we moved to the bar, and we needed to order with the bar tender. Remember that part when all the bar tenders disappeared? A few minutes go by, and that unfriendly lady walks by, I asked if the bar was open and she reacted sacrastcly that she would deal with me in a second. As she slowly walked outside, moments later appearing to be carrying a chair. I guess that party of 8 needed a 9th chair for some reason. After she figured out where to put the chair, she disappears into kitchen area. About 5 minutes later she meanders over to the bar pretending to search thru a pile of loose paper. Maybe the papers were part of the customer service manual she never read…..Anyhow, after she gets done sorting the papers, I look at the wife and say, let’s go somewhere that wants us here. I must have said it too loud, as that unfriendly lady approached to tell me a bar tender would be right with us…. It is 1:15. Now, I apologized to miss unfriendly, stating we must have been off base that we could get drinks and food….
1:30. Met our friends at Mixx on main where we were...
