So we , party of 3, were in the mood for a good burger and decided to try wayback- 1st time. The exterior appeared new, the interior new - spartan galvanized- chairs/ tables with a hint of retro 60-70’s playing over the speakers. Not bad. Unfortunately, for a place whom sells/ focuses of food ...? That was the highlight for our visit at Wayback Hilton Head, SC The food was very slow to arrive - which seemed curious to us...the dining area had only @ 10 other diners beside our table of 3. Beside being slow, the wrong food was brought out following-(@12min wait for fast food). Double burger - lettuce, tomato, bacon ONLY. Kids burger with fries- which arrived with no fries..!! Seriously..! As we pointed out it was the wrong food, the staff began to disagree , Until they checked the ticket and discovered, indeed , they had made it wrong. 1- burger had cheese , even though specifically requested no cheese. BLT Only..! 2- the kids burger arrived with no fries on the plate. When we took the plate to the counter to request the fries- ( 2) different female employees said they did not understand and stated ; “they did NOT SPEAK ENGLISH...” .. I’m not joking 🙃 finally, a 3rd employee interceded and corrected that error. We met Scott, whom identified himself as the Owner. He read our ticket noting the food was prepared wrong. Then we were offered fries which we had originally ordered, We , however, declined and asked for fresh hot fries with our corrected burger order. When corrected burgers were made... @ 5 min.- yep, you guessed it ..! they offered us the fries which had been sitting... We countered the cold fries offer, requesting hot fries instead. The burger which was hot is now sitting on the counter, waiting for hot fries...!! OMG..! I am not joking- it would be funny if it were not sadly true.. Folly- of- errors..! Finally, the fresh fries and slight less hot burger was finally proffered. As we were eating , we watched the kitchen staff and noticed the woman at the flat top leave the burgers that she was cooking, grab napkins with her gloved hands blot her sweating face, neck. Then return to cooking without changing gloves. SMH..! Not sure about the hygiene/ Health Code rule of that..? Nonetheless, Clean gloves would’ve impressed us more. After completing our meal, we cleared our table only to find both trash receptacles overfilled. We requested Scott, again, and showed him the (2) overflowing trash cans. He said;..”he had someone on it..” (which was apparently optimistic at best) Finally, You will do well to know if you prefer Coca Cola, as do most in the South, You will be dismayed to find Pepsi is your...
Read moreAlright, so my wife and I had a seriously awesome time at Whataburger. Let me tell you, those burgers were something else – I'm talking cheesy goodness and chili cheese heaven with a side of those mind-blowing chili cheese fries. And to wash it all down, we had some lip-smacking lemonade. Our taste buds were basically doing a happy dance.
Now, here's where it gets even better. The folks there were just top-notch when it came to customer service. At the get-go, the staff was super cool. I had this last-minute change to tweak our order, and they totally rolled with it, throwing in an extra chili cheese on the house. Can you believe it? The owner himself was totally on board and made it happen. We left with giant smiles on our faces.
When our grub was ready, the chef gave us this friendly "enjoy your meal" kind of grin. And the person at the register was like the Flash – quick and courteous, getting things done. Oh, and they've got this high-tech touch too – you can actually punch in your order on a screen. Fancy, right?
Okay, here's the one teensy thing. Inside the restaurant, it was a bit warm. I mean, they've got that open kitchen thing going on, which is cool, but it made the place a tad toasty, especially if you're bringing in children.
So, summing it up – Whataburger totally rocked our world. Finger-licking burgers, service with a smile, and a comfy setting. Despite the warm vibes (literally), we're totally giving it a thumbs-up and looking forward to another round of...
Read moreFirst time visiting. Family got sandwiches. They enjoyed them. We also got 2 shakes. Brownie shakes. As I tried to drink mine, every sip made me think something was wrong with it. I couldn't put my finger on what it was, but it was not tasting right. Daughter also got the same type of shake and she to thought something was off. We thought maybe it was the chocolate syrup in the shake. At this point all of us had tried the shakes and all agreed something was wrong with it. A very sweet employee asked if everything was good and hesitantly we indicated that something was off with the shake. She offered to make a new one. I opted to have her make a different flavor since we thought it was the chocolate. She brought me a cinnamon toast crunch shake. She was really sweet and really wanted us to be happy. We all tried the new shake and all agreed that it was off too. Because it had no chocolate in it we agreed it had to be the ice cream. The shake was just not drinkable. Two of our party thought the taste was freezer burn of the ice cream. We would recommend eating burgers at this place, but stay away from the shakes, without asking if they are willing to give a refund if it doesn't taste right. The female server was super sweet and I couldn't disappoint her with telling her that the second shake was off as well. We just left with willing to take a loss, but later figured we need to let someone know something isn't right with...
