Uncle Billy's Burger Joint — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

Hear ye, hear ye! Gather close, good folk of Hilton Head Island, and hearken to my words of praise for Uncle Billy's Burger Joint, found at 7b Greenwood Dr! Forsooth, a finer haven of Smash Burgers, fries, and brews shalt thou seldom find!

On the evening of March 10, 2025, my noble parents and I set forth to taste the offerings of the Reilley's restaurant group’s newest venture. My mother and father, wise and measured in their appetite, shared a single Smash Burger adorned with caramelized onions and pickles—a pairing fit for royalty. Meanwhile, I, ever the bold eater, tackled a double Smash Burger crowned with cheese, bacon, red onion, and pickles. Oh, what a feast!

Between the three of us, we did share a basket of tater tots and another of sweet potato fries, both cooked to crispy perfection. At each table, one finds a bounty of condiments: ketchup, mustard, Hellman’s mayonnaise, and salt and pepper, all at thy service. The food was “smashing!” indeed—a triumph of taste! Should your hunger be mighty, I recommend the double patty, though I myself would have relished the lighter fare of a single.

The establishment was immaculate, a testament to their dedication. The waitstaff, ever kind and friendly, added cheer to our repast. Our meal was attended to with care and warmth, making our experience most delightful.

Yet one small critique I humbly offer: let them consider adding more side dishes, such as a fine coleslaw, to grace their menu. Still, Uncle Billy’s Burger Joint stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a place where one should surely return time and again.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars all the way around is that it was really, really hard to find. Better signage is definitely needed in my opinion. Went for lunch and we learned that during the day uncle Billy's does their service out of papi taquela, which was right across the courtyard. It was neat because we got chips, guac, and salsa for an appetizer and burgers for lunch. Burgers were fantastic! A single burger that came with fries was a bit pricey for the amount given to be honest. For 3 foutian drinks, chips salsa queso and guac, and 2 burgers it was about $55. I guess that's not horrible but it is a bit high for how casual it was and the fact that it was lunch. The Burgers were described as smash burgers so the patties were thinner and they did not ask about the temperature, I just tend to like my burgers very thin or a little pink. I do not recommend ordering takeout from this place. We ordered some burgers and fries online which all sounded amazing and unique. But when we got there we couldn’t even find the place. It is inside some bar but there was no clear signs or directions anywhere to lead us in the right direction. We walked all the way around the parking lot and ended up having to ask someone to help us. Once we got our food we were severely disappointed. Our whole order was wrong, and every single burger was undercooked. Like totally pink. Half the toppings that were supposed to come on the burgers were not there. One burger didn’t have any sauce or cheese on it whatsoever and was incredibly bland. The fries were also barely seasoned and extremely bland. We would’ve been happier going to Mcdonald’s. Absolute...
