Hidden Grounds Chai & Coffee House — Restaurant in Hoboken

After finding this gem on Google reviews - we went out of our way to visit and we were hoping for a great coffee!

Barista is probably in the wrong industry - 8am on a Saturday with no line, and we were abruptly told to order on the iPad because the barista couldn’t take our order while making other coffees. Fair enough, we ordered and with only four coffees before us waited almost 15mins for ours. Coffees were okay, not great.

Tried some of the food options and the gulab donuts were unique and tasty, but heated and placed in a paper bag so the icing melted all over the bag with some left on the donut.

Awesome coffee place with really friendly and kind staff. I have been going here almost daily for months now. Wanted to get around to leaving a review, but sad to say I have to mark it down a bit. The Air Conditioning is a total mess, it simply isn't working and hasn't been all summer. It's been super hot inside the building for months now and I am a bit frustrated that I can't stay and enjoy my coffee in that heat. It's also terrible to walk in and see all the workers sweating in those conditions constantly is a bit frustrating. Happy to adjust my review once this is fixed, but for now it's a sauna in there.

Was in a great mood this morning, until I decided to try Hidden Grounds in Hoboken. I ordered an iced latte and was very disappointed when I grabbed what I thought was my latte. The female barista with glasses very rudely told me the drink I grabbed was not mine. I apologized and put it back. I kept waiting for my latte as I saw the barista call out the orders for customers to pick up. As she was done with mine she just placed it on the counter and said nothing. I did not want to make the mistake again of grabbing an order that was not mine. But time passed and she did not seem to care to tell me it was my order until I got up and asked but she kept ignoring me.
