Hoboken Public Library — Attraction in Hoboken

We LOVE this Library!!! We belong to three City Libraries, for different reasons. Hoboken, Union City, Jersey City. Hoboken is probably our preferred/favorite one and definitely the one we borrow from the most. Completely revamped Children's + Teen Area on 3rd floor, which computers, comfy seating areas, and more. There is a wonderful selection of books, audio/visual titles and movies! The Librarians here are extremely courteous, friendly, and spot on helpful. I adore the staff at this library! Street parking only, like many places in Hoboken, but it doesn't take long for us to find a spot within a block. There are also many events for all ages held here you can register for and attend. It is a fantastic local resource where you can borrow things interlibrary, so if they do not have a title you want, it can be reserved and shipped there. Excellent system. There are also e-books you can borrow via their online borrowing system. Included with your library membership is a subscription to Hoopla, which allows borrowing of movies/tv shows, magazines, and ebooks, along with some Rosetta Stone language courses. Convenient messaging system for items you borrow and when they are due. Excellent local resource....

I went to the library today to try to use a computer and print (as I don’t have a printer at home) and the worker who’s supposed to help me at that station was very rude and sarcastic! He never told me his name but I’ve dealt with his rude self in the past in the children’s section. He has dreads and seems to only talk in a condescending tone of voice. He should learn some better customer service etiquette or just be fired. You shouldn’t work in a PUBLIC library if you always have an attitude like you don’t want to help the public. 2024: Socially awkward communication at times at the checkout downstairs, but no complaints. After an unaccounted for return via a drop box disagreement 5-6 years ago, I record on video every drop off.
