Nancy's Scoops — Restaurant in Hocking Township

My review isn't because of the food, Ice cream, or the store in anyway, my 1 rating comes from our experience on may 25th at 8pm. We (girlfriend son and I) came into the store to get some ice cream as we've done times before. It wasn't busy and there was a young lady (worker/friend) sitting on her boyfriend's lap, as we were placing our order with the young lady behind the counter the young lady sitting on her boyfriend's lap conversations with the workers behind the counter in casual conversation got up and pulled the young lady at the counter that was helping us aside to whisper something in her ear. They both looked at us and began to laugh snicker and did everything they could not to laugh out loud.. now normally I wouldn't think nothing of it because thats what kids do but it was clearly about 1 or all three of us. It made me uncomfortable enough that I stepped to the side as to not have the young lady sitting on her boyfriend's lap laughing and snickering behind my back. After we left my girlfriend immediately mentioned she noticed that behavior and she agreed she felt uncomfortable and kinda disrespected. See my girlfriend has had a heart replacement and has scares and is very self consince about her looks especially in public. It turned what was a fun evening into a upset one that left us discussing weather or not we would be visiting that store in the future. We understand teenagers are hurtful and thoughtless at times when they say things and what not but atleast wait until the people your insulting...

I thought I would write a comprehensive review of this place. I had been wanting to try it out for a long while, and we finally got the chance to go.

I'm not a neat freak, and personally found the place to be a little bit dirty. There's no public restroom (a must for any place that serves food in my opinion). They don't take cash.

The service was terrible. The girl working genuinely looked unhappy to be there and it showed in the way she treated the customers. We were one of two larger parties in there. They got a few details on the orders wrong. I would have mentioned that my order was wrong but I genuinely felt like I was inconveniencing her by even being there and did not feel comfortable mentioning it to her. I understand people have bad days and I have worked in the service industry, but that's no excuse to be rude to customers, especially jovial ones. Poor service is a deal breaker for us. I'm glad to see others in here have had better experiences, unfortunately that was not ours and as a result we won't be back.

They serve Perry's Ice Cream. We are from the Fairfield Union area, and I can buy it at the Bremen One Stop in tubs or get it at the Falcons Nest, in case anyone else here enjoyed the ice cream but was unimpressed with...

The employees have not been trained properly to run a smooth operation, in a quick orderly manner. Thursday 3/28 afternoon, went & ordered sandwich & icecream scoops, sandwich delivered, not icecream, cashier takes more orders and serves them icecream, I say we did not get our icecream, she says very firmly, she knows, tells me she took their order and served them, and will take another order, and then she will give me MY icecream, so I am waiting for my icecream which I want to eat with my sandwich. That is terrible service, inappropriate and she has a terrible, uncaring, attitude and was very rude. Yes, we been there many times and thru the drive thru, it is extremely slow if busy, usually it is way too cold or too hot in there, but people tolerate it, which is due to training, but this behavior is absolutely unacceptable.
