This used to be one of the best malls in the 2000s, and it had so much going on that I'd rather go to Lancaster than the way-too-crowded Columbus malls. Even the sounds of the Cold Stone employees singing made such a friendly atmosphere. Now, though, it's not even worth the gas to go to this mall. I think the movie theatre moving outside really destroyed the foot traffic in the mall, and it shows. Every time we step inside the mall, more and more is closed. The play place is currently shut down for COVID, but the fact that the playground being boarded up matches the aesthetic of the torn up seats and run down equipment is just sad. There have also been times where we came to pick up an order made online at Hot Topic and the employees didn't even show up to open the store - and when they did finally show up they had a huge attitude. And one time we literally went to Charlie's in the food court, walked around, and came back to find Charlie's permanently shut down - just like that! In fact, the once full food court now only has a soft pretzel place left, giving shoppers no reason to stay longer or spend more money, and walking past the food court's empty storefronts and tables (which used to be a direct path to the movie theatre) is just like walking through a ghost town now. The mall is just hemorrhaging stores, even Victoria Secret and GameStop are gone after spending years as psuedo anchor stores in Lancaster. And, while I love the mom and pop businesses appearing in some of the gaps, I'm not really in the market to buy engraved wooden signs or knock-off Build-A-Bears often enough to come to the mall for that kind of thing. For the same drive time, I can go to Columbus, and I feel forced to do that at this stage because the mall is in such bad shape and it realistically will be shuttered within...
Read moreI heard it has been sold to someone else. I hope they bring in new competition with low prices and great workmanship. Stores like Old Navy, TjMax, Justice, Claire's, Great Clips, a larger game room with more variety, a fun or romantic restaurant. The whole idea is to get medium to low prices, stores that do well in other malls, Restaurant that is like Dave & Busters, Quaker Oil. Have special weeks or week- ends with shows or talents, action like comedy and so on. If the fast food restaurants can't keep it clean or speak English, don't even start them in the mall. Information Center should be located in the center of the Mall. The mall is looking like a ghost town. Lancaster is Not a big money making City. The prices need to stay down. Offer events or specials, I don't mean the stores, I mean the Mall. Do things that make people curious to get people in, then to buying. Make it a Happy Place. I suggest a Coffee Shopp separate from the eateries or from the restaurant, Mimes or Jugglers, clowns walking around, a small bowling alley where the old movie theater was. I wish you all the best. I really do hope whether 1 person or a group purchased the Mall, I hope you can see that this Mall needs a big turn around, of course I know you intelligent people know it takes lots of money to do such things. I would consider a booth that check people that come in with guns or knives, this would help comfort many of the shoppers and employees. Good...
