Taqueria Azteca — Restaurant in Holland Charter Township

So crazy happy I came here! A couple of friends recommended the store and mentioned there is a restaurant adjacent to the store. I was craving tacos today and decided to give this place a try as it is fairly close to work. I asked for the chicken taco lunch special and ordered an extra Chorizo Taco because only two tacos come in the lunch special. All other Mexican restaurants that I've been to have tiny portion tacos, so I prepared by ordering the third. Ummm...the Tacos are HUGE!!! I finished my food because I eat a ton, but the tacos were huge!!! And so delicious!! They have a butcher shop at the store, so I can imagine the meat is fresh.

After picking my tacos up, I ran next door to the store. It was clean, neat, super organized and the the employees (older couple - owners?) were so friendly. They had awesome stuff that I was looking for (guava paste and pulparindo candy), I was very pleased with my food and purchases. I will...

Food was good. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, was feeling a torta, and I had asked about one in the menu and she steered me to the Cubano Torta. It wasn't what I was picturing, and thinking it was going to be, but I was happily surprised. This was probably one of the biggest sandwiches I had ever eaten, could've would've should've shared this sandwich, but I have eaten since dinner the night before, and didn't eat until dinner the next day after it. It included, ham, cheese, hot dog, yes hot dog, and it worked, fried pork, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and not sure what else, but if you have a big appetite, and looking for something to fill it, look no further. Oh well, we rarely go to Mexican restaurants for obvious reasons (we are always disappointed of their food, more like texmex) but we went there with a friend and the food was OK until They have cheese quesadilla, it is funny because quesadillas already has the word cheese in it (quesa = queso = cheese). There is no such thing as steak quesadilla or similar. That would be a taco. (Mexico city does weird things, so no, quesadilla is cheese only, period). They served a quesadilla with yellow cheese (colby probably? there is no such thing as four cheese, or Mexican cheese if it is yellow) and sour cream, that is the MOST UNMEXICAN thing to do!!!
