We went to Walk-On’s for the Ravens- Chiefs game. My sister is part of a Ravens fan club and they had around130 fans there at the restaurant, practically filling it. We had reservations through the fan club and arrived early to make sure we got a good seat. We were quickly greeted by Roman, and ordered something to drink and appetizers. We chose fried pickles and the devils on horseback. The food came quickly and it was hot and tasty. The pickles were fried with a cornmeal batter and were very crispy. The devils on horseback were deep fried shrimp that were bacon wrapped with cream cheese and jalapeños inside. They were good as well.
We told our waiter, Roman, that we would not be drinking, but that we would tip him well.
We had a young lady that joined our table because of the crowd. It seemed at that point, Roman’s full attention was on her, as when he approached the table he was only asking her if she needed anything. Our glasses with tonic water were empty. Rather than bring us fresh drinks, he chose to bring us the bottles of tonic and a glass of ice to share.
We ordered an entree of catfish and crawfish etouffee, which was also hot and delicious. At this point, Roman continued to walk past our table and ignored the empty ice water glasses, tableware, and our empty tonic water drinks. He brought by two more tonic waters, but no ice. I ended up walking to the bar to get two glasses of ice. The other empty glasses, napkins, and tableware remained on the table as Roman continued to walk back and forth in front of the table.
When we decided to tab out, he then told us the gratuity was already added, as we were part of the Ravens group. That would explain why we did not get the service we expected. Had he given us better service, he would have ended up with an extra $20 bill in his pocket. Yes, there was a large crowd there, but he walked past our table numerous times without picking up the dirty dishes. They were still there when we left.
The food was good and the atmosphere was great. The experience could have been a knock out of the park had we received...
Read moreWe went to Walk-ons 2/20 for dinner. It was my biggest mistake this year. The atmosphere was nice and we were greeted and sat right away. We did have to walk by the “game” room where 1 machine was out of service and none of the machines took anything other than cash. Annoying but common.
Anyway we were sat and our server was lovely, they were efficient and quick and we had everything we wanted and needed. I ordered the Ribeye, with the mushroom crawfish sauce and this is the point that my experience took a turn. First the price, at $30 (the sauce is a $3 add-on) was a little shocking but if I was going to get a good steak I could share that’s worth it. The rest of the dinner finished without incident, the coconut mojito is actually super tasty and the milkshakes were good.
Now at this point you may be wondering “Rachel? Why the 1 star? Every thing to this point was good or mid.” I’ll let you in, I was awoken in the middle of the night by my dear husband having stomach troubles, as well as my oldest son. As we’d all eaten different things I thought was in the clear, then I remembered I had shared my steak with both of these family members. I spent the next 30 hours in between my bed and the toilet making choices no human should have to make. I called the restaurant and they told me “I’m going to review this with the kitchen manager and we’ll call you to make it right.” What they are reviewing? I couldn’t tell you but it must be a thorough review because I haven’t heard back as of yet.
I’m currently typing this in-between stomach pains, and at this point I’m wondering is my food-borne illness going to resolve first or am I going to get a call back first?
Everything seemed like this was going to be an okay experience with great service. We will not be returning, and I doubt that I’ll be able to eat steak again for a...

Don’t waste your time. There are plenty of other places. That will give you great service. Hot food that is served timely. When we got tired of waiting I told the bartender also waitress. That we wanted to ran out and cancel the food. It had been just over 45 min. She went to the front desk’s manager. Then back to kitchen. While that happened our food came out. My catfish was as warm, fries chilly. My wife’s bang bang shrimp tacos….COLD! She was not happy. Our friend order the horses of something shrimp. From the appetizer menu. Grillled not fried. When served there were four shrimp wrapped in bacon. About the size of your pinky finger. No jalapeños or cream cheese. They both got draft beer. Which no draft is ever cold enough in today’s world. I ordered a gin and tonic. She didn’t ask what kind of gin. Which I definitely stated. After she walked away and I couldn’t get her attention. When served there was no lime. I asked for one. Which she replied with, if you want to wait five minutes. I said oh that’s ok. Little while later a kid came out with a plate full. For a round of tall beers. She made eye contact many times but didn’t offer one until I ordered my second drink. This was all while we waited for that cold food.
Not only all this. Our table edges were dirt enough to get ketchup on my wife’s clothes. Tip: don’t use the booth table to pull yourself out. The bottom of the table is nasty.
