Jaydine Restaurant & bar — Restaurant in Hollywood

First time I tried to order from here was months ago with Grubhub and after waiting for a while I called and I was told that the chef had left and they didn’t know when he/she was coming back and they didn’t how to cancel my order. Anyways I called and got my money back.

Fast forward to today, I decided to give them a try but this time I called to place my order and went there for pick up.

In person you can only pay with cash or cashapp.

This “restaurant” is more like a lounge/club type of place. VIP area, dance floor, pool tables and lots of tables to sit. It would be a great place for big groups or to hangout on a weekend.

Now on to the food. We ordered griot $15 with black rice, fried plantains and also some oxtail $20 with same sides.

Everything was really really good. The griot had a food amount of fat to it and the pikliz was great and perfect spice level. The black rice and the fried plantains tasted homemade.

The oxtail was lacking oxtail lol but they were good.

I would recommend to try just maybe not...

Rude customer service. Completely unprofessional. No wonder most of these restaurants live check by check and end up eventually closing down due to bankruptcy. You don't know how to satisfy the people who makes or breaks your pockets. I called to enquire about the menu, the lady got mad and actually hung up on me after I asked two questions. Whether they still had Legume with diri dijon djon and what time they close? She said you can come in and find out and freaking hung. I called back to give them a second chance and the phone was picked up and hung up again without me saying anything. What kind of business is this. If they are that negligent with actual customers, I'm afraid to find out how they behave towards the ingredients for our food. Anyone who can act so incompetent when it comes to customers service won't care about the safety and hygiene of their restaurants environment. I'm glad I didn't have to make the trip first to be treated like this...

Terrible customer service. Never eating here again. First, I ordered a legume with white rice on doordash but after waiting forever for the order to be confirmed I had to call the restaurant myself for them to confirm it. Then, I got a call saying there was no white rice so I politely asked them to cancel the order. They refused and kept offering me something else, thus forcing me to cancel the order myself and I didn’t receive a refund since I had to cancel it. I had to pay for something I didn’t order!
