After running a few errands, I came here for the $7.25 lunch buffet. Teppanyaki is a very large buffet restaurant that caters in Chinese, Japanese, Hibachi, and American cuisine. They also have a wide selection of sushi. The restaurant had a clean, modern oriental décor with plenty of table & booth seating for the customers. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the hostess who quickly seated me at a booth. As soon as one of the servers brought me my choice of drink, I grabbed a plate and helped myself to the buffet. There was a variety of foods, which are too numerous to mention, to choose from; and it all was neatly displayed & labeled so you knew what you were eating. After 3 plates, I had my fill of chicken & broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, roasted potatoes, fried dumplings, teriyaki chicken, honey chicken, barbecue pork, vegetable lo mein, chicken stick, sweet donut, and sweet plantains, which was cooked to my satisfaction. The servers was nice and efficient when it came to clearing the plates off the table and making sure you have a fresh refill.

I have been here once before, but this time was very “meh.” It’s not BAD, but not good either. The place is spacious, clean, and the service is great. Servers are kind, friendly and attentive. The food however, was mediocre at best. Everything was kinda stale. Even the airtight wrapped fortune cookie I got with my check. The sushi was okay, but like it’d been sitting out, stale isn’t the word, but let’s go with stale. The sushi selection was very minimal, if you’re looking for a sushi buffet, I’d recommend elsewhere. The hot food items were okay. I feel that these Asian buffets are all good when it comes to the traditional hot foods. It wasn’t great, but it was good. For the $15 dinner price, it’s great. I was considering fast food, and figured a burger combo is like $12 these days, so why not a variety of sushi and Asian dishes for $16. So if you’re looking for amazing food and a huge selection, this place isn’t it. But, if you’re looking for an economical buffet where you can get stuffed for cheap … here you go.

I’m writing this review for my elderly mother who came in for dinner today with her friend. We’ve been here MANY times and always had a good experience but unfortunately this will be the last time as this potentially could’ve been my mothers last time eating anywhere. She grabbed an egg roll and while chewing she almost choked on a piece of glass. YES GLASS IN THR FOOD. She quickly spit it out and they grabbed the manager. He came TOOK the shard and said oh they don’t make this in house and will take care of it. She refused to eat after this and when the bill came he took 5$ off. This is a complete insult after almost killing someone. It’s not even about the money but the fact that she didn’t eat and they simply didn’t care speaks volume of the establishment and this manager who we potentially will be taking further actions with.

They had a good selection of food. I would say food was okay quality wise - middle of the road. But the reason for the one star review is because of poor service and bad experience. The servers never asked once how we were doing. Had to ask for water when we were running low. When we were ready to pay, we were going to pay MasterCard with chip. If you have a chip debit or credit card, they do not accept that method of payment because they don't pay for that feature. I was on the phone with my card company since they didn't take chip and they suggested to manually enter my card, but the restaurant also refused that method because they don't pay for that feature. Huh??? That confused me and my boyfriend, who work for a large bank btw. The guy at cash also asked for my pin so he could put it in for me to see if it works and I said, "No, why would I give you my pin?" First you say it doesn't take pin and then you ask me for my pin???!!! I also suggested that they put up a sign saying that they don't accept chip cards, especially because it's more common now and because travelers from other countries (like Canada) use chip. However, they were not open to feedback at all. In fact, the manager or owner was rude and was yelling as she was explaining. She said that they wouldn't do that because chip cards are "not common in the restaurants around here". We ended up trying another credit card, which worked. Thank God! Overall, poor service, rude and unreceptive to feedback. Don't recommend at all - go somewhere else.

Response to owner: we were leaving around 1030 at night so there weren't many customers and it was not busy. So there was no reason for yelling. Very poor excuse on...

My main concern is the horrible customer service.

Lets talk about the customer service: With no explanation, They forced me to throw out my drink that I paid $8 for, frantically talking over me. I dont see why. There is no reason to do this. I had no other choice but to throw my drink. I asked why after all… there has to be a reason you are asking me to waste food and money. She said thats just how it is. With no actual reason or explanation. I was trying my best to explain to her that I could not throw it out because it was an expensive drink $8 and I couldnt just “save it for later” because it contains ICE and would water the down therefore losing the flavor and the whole point of the drink. I needed to go see my family because they were waiting for me so I had no other choice but to throw it out because Im not here to start a scene or a problem. Thats not my intent. So I sacrificed my drink.

At every other buffet if you ask them to make you a avocado sushi roll they do. Its very simple. It is just with avocado. They did not. Very rudely and frantically said no.

Very disrespectful. Very disappointed. Will not be coming back. Having a business is about understanding the customer and their needs. It is also about respecting the customer and this experience was beyond...

Food was alright but costumer service horrible! Specially if you have kids! my family and I are staying at a hotel in Hallandale beach near the buffet and we wanted to try this place out, when we showed up my 3 year old daughter was asleep in her stroller and they did not let me bring her in the dining room with the stroller, I explained to the hostess that she was asleep and she asked me if I had a car seat, once again I explained that my daughter car seat is not small, that I could not carry her in her big girl car seat, she did not want to make an exception or understand the situation, my family and I decided to take turns carrying my daughter while trying to eat, then as they were sitting us down we asked for a booth table to make it easier for us to lay my daughter down, they said there was no booth table for us, by this point I was super upset but we had no choice or did not know of any other restaurant near by so we walked around and looked for a booth table ourselves, we found one! But half of the family had to sit at another table since we did not fit! Worst experience ever!! If you have kids DO NOT go there!! This place is not kid friendly at all!!! The worst part is that they did not even try to accommodate to the costumer! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE...
