THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN A RESTAURANT!!!!
Came here with my family for a comfort meal while mourning the loss of our beloved grandfather who passed away just this morning.
We ordered a sprite (2.99), club soda (2.99), miso soup (2.49), a dragon roll (11.99), sashimi lunch special (13.99) which comes with white rice and a house salad, a cashew nut sauce chicken lunch special (8.99), also ordered a side of steamed broccoli since our server didn’t let us substitute the white rice in the sashimi combo. Her explanation was that the rice is complimentary with the food. That was an extra 8.99 added to the 13.99!
We had our soup and salad first, then shortly after the food was served. As we began to eat, my sister had pointed out that her TUNA TASTED BAD as if it was sitting out in the heat. She could not continue eating it. When we told the server, she took it away along with the side of rice which was on a separate plate and supposedly “complimentary”. When we asked her to leave the rice so my sister can eat it since she couldn’t finish her food, she said she would have to charge us for it! I asked her to leave the rice to make up for the bad fish and she replied very sarcastically saying “I’m not the boss”. So then I asked for her boss since she could not accommodate us the right way and she replied stating the manager was not there. Then she went to the register and started talking bad about us to the other servers. She came back and said that we don’t have to leave her a tip if we don’t want to. Um... okay? I told her that she also needed to take off the rice and broccoli from the bill since my sister didn’t eat it. So after waiting for her about 10 minutes to “fix the bill”, we decided to walk up to the front to leave cash so we can leave. Finally she comes out on her cell phone and passes it to me so I can speak with the manager while also pointing to some sign with their “policies”. The manager said unfortunately they must charge us for the rice and broccoli since nothing was wrong with it! WITH NO APOLOGY AT ALL!!! So I told her that we will not be paying for something we did not eat. I gave back the phone and started taking pictures of the establishment and the server who did not want to give me her name. Once she saw that I took her picture, she became furious and started yelling at me to delete the picture and saying she was going to call the cops! Last time I checked, this was a free country. 🤷🏻♀️
I told her I would not delete the picture and to go ahead and call the cops. So my sister decided to call the health department and report this bad business. I told her to give me the correct bill so we can pay and leave. After all we have funeral and flight arrangements to make!
SHE WOULD NOT GIVE US THE BILL!
We ended up calculating the food we did eat which was the sodas (5.00), the dragon roll (12.00), miso soup (2.50), and cashew chicken (9.00).
We left her $28.00 on the counter which is MORE THAN ENOUGH and walked out!
She ended up following us to the car and taking a picture of my license plate!
Good luck with that, ma’am!
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS...
Read moreThis was my family's go to sushi spot. Food was always good never an issue. Until I took my family out for my son's birthday dinner. At his request. As we walked in I got a nasty look from the the head waitress, "not sure if she heard me say something weird like I do sometimes to my kids, not intended to anyone particular" but I did notice a nasty look from her . Anyway... We sit down and guess who is our waitress!?? Ok nasty look herself.. so we ordered and specifically ordered a spicy tuna roll with cream cheese. This is my usual order so it's not like I would ask for something I don't like... So she brings me a spicy salmon roll instead... So I tell her immediately this is not what I ordered!?? She says yes it is I wrote it down?? I said well your wrote it down wrong!? But being a nice guy I'm like ok maybe I did order wrong and decided to eat it ...then she walked away without trying to fix the situation ( the customer is always right) then both of my teenage kids told me nooo dad you ordered correctly we heard you!! So after eating half I got thinking I'm gonna pay for someone else mistake. Soo when she finally can back to ask if everything was ok , I said no it's not.... And precede to tell her she should have corrected it in the first place!!! Then said she would exchange it ... I wasn't going to take the chance that a get my original order with something I didn't order on top of it! If you know what I mean?? So needless to say this put. Damper on my son's 16 birthday dinner. And after all that .. they give me the bill "from different server now," thinking maybe they adjust the bill for the mistake??? Ohhhh nooo instead they give me the bill with the tip already added at 20%!!! I question the girl and she said tip was included.. I told her noooo I put my own tip in thank you!! And of course I tipped her what she was worth... I took off the price of the wrong roll... So very bad experience Won't go back . Hope your...
Read moreA friend who works at the nearby Hard Rock casino and really likes Thai food invited me for my first visit to Sake. He claims its one of the best in the Hollywood area. I arrived at 9:30pm with a party of 8 and there was no wait. There where only 2 or 3 other tables being served.
The setting is pretty simple. 1 large room with booths, tables, and mixed seating. The tables are spaced far apart which lends to the overall spacious feeling of the dinning room, along with a high ceiling. There is a long sushi bar down the long side of the room with about 4 sushi chef stations. Everything seemed clean and professional.
The menu was what I expect from this type of restaurant, huge. All the staple Japanese and Thai foods and some items the waiter described as Chinese. There was also a good selection of imported beers and drinks from Asia. The prices seemed pretty good, $3.50 hand rolls.
I ordered my old standbys, Thai Tea and a Salmon Skin Hand Roll. The Tea was served in a surprisingly large glass and was pretty good, just a little less spicy than I like. The hand roll was very good, the skin was crispy and the sauce (some variation of eel) went well with it.
Next I ordered an eel hand roll. It was average. The eel seemed very fatty, which is fine with me, and I wish they put a little more of it in the roll.
I also tried their fried banana desert which comes with ice cream. It was very good but I wish it was fried in panko flakes like they do at some other places.
The presentation was above average with obvious care given to placement, color, and sauce coverage.
My friends ordered various Thai dishes and where all satisfied. From their account Sake does not spice their food up as most Thai places due by default, you'll have to ask for that traditional heat. Overall I was satisfied with the quality, service, and price. If you're looking for a casual Thai/Sushi place with good food this...
