Subway — Restaurant in Hollywood

I have had businesses in the area for about twenty years. Among my choices for lunch has been the Subway store # 1995 at 2850 Stirling Road in Hollywood, Florida. As much I I like certain Subway products, I did not go to that Subway very often for various reasons, including, but not limited to, cleanliness and staffing. Well, I hadn’t been to Subway for some time but, on Tuesday of this week, I stopped by, AND boy was I surprised and glad that I did! Immediately upon walking in, I noticed that the store was brighter and was obviously cleaner. The presentation at the counter was GREATLY improved. Kudos, also, on your terrific staff! The sandwich artists were cheerful, pleasant, professional and efficient. In particular, I must compliment Jean and Valerie. I have now been back to this Subway for the third day in a row today. I have related my experience to my staff and each day my order has increased because they all are now giving it another try. Lastly, I have to tell you about the remarkable, truly unusual these days, customer service that I received from Jean and Valerie today. I ordered three 12” veggie patty sandwiches, but the store was down to it’s last veggie patty. Without my having to say anything, Jean, sensing my disappointment, immediately brought the matter to Valerie’s attention. Instead of an empty apology, which I’ve come to expect in such situations, and almost certainly would have gotten under previous management, Valerie asked me if I wouldn’t mind waiting about ten minutes in order for her to run to a nearby store to get the needed patties; I was literally stunned! Of course, I appreciatively accepted and sure enough, lickity split, Valerie was back with the patties. In the meanwhile, Jean had taken the initiative, to prepare the two salads and three sandwiches in my order so that as soon as Valerie returned the patties could be toasted and added to the sandwiches with no further delay – which is exactly what happened. Within a few minutes of Valerie’s return, my order was finished off and I was on my way. Congratulations on the excellent job you have done turning this location around in such dramatic fashion. I am very glad that I can now make Subway a much more regular lunch option, including bringing in for company meeting lunches – which I wouldn’t have considered as a lunch meeting option under prior management. The new management is awful. I used to be a patron as I work nearby. The store underwent new management and has severely gone down hill. They hide their deli section so you can’t see the produce before ordering. They have terrible sanitation standards. They dip their utensil after using using it on food into a water solution that has visible chunks of food floating in it. Then, they use that same utensil on your food. The food is often old as they do not replace daily or bake fresh bread more than one a day, it seems. I’ve given up on the subs. Oh, and the best part, the service. Rude and EXTREMELY SLOW. I went in for chips and a drink on an empty restaurant and had to wait 4 min to get help. It’s crazy. They don’t even care. They don’t smile, they don’t greet, they have a sarcastic sour attitude and seem to hate being there. It’s the trifecta of bad food, awful service and bad sanitation standard. Today I went there and the woman that worked there was extremely rude. i asked her to put a little more oil and vinegar on my sub and she acted like she was painting she continually put oil and vinegar on my sub. I was with another person and she put two subs in one green plate( we were going to eat inside.) So I asked her to give me another green plate for the other sandwich. She huffed and puffed. SHe told me that just because I am white that she doesn't have to be nice to me. Totaly uneducated and racist, I will never step foot in that subway again. THis lady was extremely rude and unprofessional. And obviousy since she told me that she doesnt have to be nice to me because I'm white, obvioslu SHE IS A RACIST!!
