Hotel is in shambles both physically and service-wise.
Hotel shuttle from the airport took 42 minutes from when I called until I was picked up (had to call twice), and the van was old and dirty.
Breakfast was missing some key items normally seen at other properties, and the eggs were way overcooked and dry (therefore inedible) all mornings of our stay - scrambled eggs should not have the appearance and texture of bread crumbs.
Rooms had major cleanliness issues (both original room and second room we were moved to). There were long black hairs (neither of us have long black hair) stuck in the hair dryer, on the hand towels on the rack and on the bathroom floor. Bathroom floor had visible dirt and what appeared (what I hoped to be) mud that would have easily been cleaned if the floor was mopped. Bed sheets in the first room (prior to moving) did not appear to have been changed from the prior guest, as there were specs of dirt and fuzz and the sheet did not appear crisp (but was extremely wrinkled). The wall area behind and around the bathroom trash can had unidentifiable stains. The couch and ottoman had numerous bodily fluid stains, the tray on the ottoman had actual food crumbs, and the ice bucket was cracked, leaking and had physical food crumbs in and on it. Bathtub had hairs in it from prior guests and/or the housekeeper. Floor of the room (specifically by the window) had a ridiculous amount of crumbs, hair and dirt - as if sweeping and mopping don't occur between guests. Common areas also appear to not be cleaned properly or regularly; elevator frames were full of smudges the entire visit.
Nothing appears to be maintained properly; wallpaper peeling in public areas as well as in the room. One elevator had duct tape holding the up/down arrow light in place. Shower/tub had chips and stains in it. "Blackout" curtains in the room do not black the room out at all, even when held closed with hangers.
Service was lacking as well. Shuttle from the airport took two calls and 42 minutes to pick us up. When I called for more body wash to be refilled in the shower, I was told "since you're only here for 3 nights you wouldn't get housekeeping service, but you can come to the front desk for body wash". While the night auditor that checked us in was polite, apologetic and moved our rooms from the first one (though both had similar issues); there was no follow up from any member of the hotel's management. However, judging from what can be seen in the reviews; hotel management seems well-aware of the issues the hotel has and doesn't seem to care - but only offers an apology in response to critical reviews.
Photos have been taken to document the cleanliness issues encountered, and will happily be forwarded to Marriott's customer care and/or the hotel if requested (though I'm not holding my breath for hotel management to actually do anything). It's ridiculous to be expected to pay upwards of $150/night for what is essentially a motel in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, breakfast and...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here after our cruise. We were greeted by great staff who were able to find us a room and let us check in early. At the time we were tired so we took a nap. We later noticed there were multiple wet spots in the room close to the bottom of the bed and air conditioner area. The water came up from the floor when my wife stepped on it and it was dirty water. We had a leak incident in our house before with fridge (clean) water so we recognized it. We called the front desk and they sent a maintenance guy (after 30’ waiting). The maintenance guy checked the air conditioner and said it was not leaking. Then he used a towel to clean the water. He said it was ok now and there was nothing else he could do. When we asked him about the potential mold issue, he asked when we would check out and said after that he could bring a fan to blow dry the area. We then went to the receptionist. Ms. Taniya Smith helped us at the time. After we explained the situation and told her what the maintenance guy said, she just said “the maintenance guy really said he could not do anything?” We were quite surprised since she showed no concern about the leak issue, especially when the cause was not found yet. We confirmed and requested a change of room since it is unsafe to stay in the room that has leaking and potential mold issue. We were not happy that we ourself had to request that instead of the hotel offered it. We happened to know Ms. Smith was the manager of that shift. We were given another “double Queen size bed” since there was no other King size bed room and that was the only room available. The bathroom in the new room was not very clean but we guessed “there is nothing they can do” at that time and we don’t want to waste more time. We were happy with all other staff that we encountered with, except Ms. Taniya Smith. We are not happy with quality of the room from a Marriott hotel line and are very disappointed on how the manager handled the issue. It showed that the hotel does not care about the guests and does not know how to resolve the situation. Even worse the hotel might have known about the issue before but tried to brush it away instead of finding the root cause to fix it ( like what happened to us). We know for sure a blow dry won’t solve the leak issue when the cause is unknown. Plus this issue could have been there for a long time, which would have caused mold to grow and be a danger to guests health. We did not receive any apology or remedy for the issue we had. We had to advocate a room change ourselves. It seems like the manager was forced to give us a new room because we requested it. Rather than seeing the inconvenience and apologizing for it. Not the worse customer service that we have seen but the worst for a Marriott line hotel. We will not recommend this hotel for our...

(I've been awake and flying a small corporate airplane since 5 am, in very bad weather, to get to Ft. Lauderdale.) I'm very tired. A little bit of "hospitality" would be welcome.||||Unfriendly, unwelcoming staff at front desk says: "Your room isn't ready. We'll call you." I'm not in the mood for this. I REALLY need a nap.||||So I sat in the busy, smelly, crowded, noisy, third-world lobby for about an hour and a half. (As an aside, I think: 30% of the clientele here look very much like people I.C.E. would be very interested in.) I get NO call from the desk. I get up to go check with the Front Desk --meanwhile there's been a shift change-- "Who are you?" the new girl asks. Grrrrrrrrr. Unprofessional.||||Finally I get a room. I unpack, go to bathroom to use the toilet. "El inodoro está roto!"||("You gotta be jokin' me." I think.)||||I walk over to phone to call front desk, to get a new room. THE PHONE is broken. I have to travel all the way down to front desk again. New person. Same bad, inhospitable attitude. I get a new room assigned... and as I arrive on this floor a cleaning woman is jabbering in some incomprehensible langauge (loud enough for me to hear about 100 ft down the hallway) about her partying last night. Unprofessional.||||I get in the "new" room: The "blackout curtain" is broken, I can't make my room dark. The mattresses on both beds are rock-hard, lumpy, garbage. The pillows are also garbage. I have to search with a flashlight to find the on/off switch for the bedside lamp. (Who designs and approves this stuff?) Later, I find out that one remote controls BOTH TV's -- the OTHER TV is in the "living room" and is set on another channel-- which is blaring at a very loud volume. I have to pull the power plug on second TV to shut it the heck up.||||The next morning at breakfast one of the serving-women garishly disturbs the semi-peace and quiet --it's Saturday morning after all-- with VERY loud, boorish tales of something-or-other. (Oh, by the way, I'd give the breakfast offerings a "1" out of 10.) ||I'd be ashamed to put that glop in front of my chickens.||||It rains overnight, and that morning the standing water in the parking lot is 4" deep... and I don't have my hip waders with me.||||I guess the GM is having a good time out fishing.||||The whole thing reminds me of what our President calls "A Third World blank-Hole." When did Marriott drop the reigns of this...
