I stayed at this location for a little under 3 weeks. I’m a travel nurse so I use hotels a lot for housing on many assignments. This by far was the one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Throughout my entire stay I set up my room to be cleaned on 3 separate occasions. I was asked what time I’d like to be serviced, as a night shift nurse I work 12 hour shifts from 7p-7a I would always request the earliest time which I was told would be 8-8:30am. On each occasion I’d stay out after work to allow time for my room to be clean. I’d get to the hotel anywhere from 10-11:30am and not once was it completed through that time frame. The last day was completely fed up and asked to speak to management. The very lady who told me they would schedule it for 8-8:30 the first time I asked to be serviced denied ever being able to schedule cleaning for that early. Another staff member set up my last two services asking the same, what time would I like to be serviced and explained how the cleaning crew comes in at 8 and would get to my room closer to 8:30am after loading their cart. All three times I stayed up hours after work for a service never received. After speaking to management the 3rd time house keeping finally came to my room around 11:30 after complaining of no one coming by. They then serviced my room and did not replace my sheets after that be one of my request sense not having my room cleaned in 15+ days. I knew due to a small food stain that was on the bottom sheet. Other than that my TV was not working when I arrived and had to be replaced. The phone in my room never worked, asked 3 separate times about getting it replaced. The third time someone finally came up and seemed to fix the problem for all of 5 minutes but it went back out the same day. The room floors are disgusting! Stains everywhere, looks as if it had not been shampooed since it’s opening. Everyday the hallways smell like smoke, it was so bad that the smell would leak into my bathroom vents. The exercise room never replaced the wipes in the work out room, and with it being covid times that’s completely unsanitary and unsafe for the rest of the guest. I asked one time for the wipes to be replaced and was handed a packet of hand wipes to take with me. Over all my stay was terrible and I’d never recommend or stay at this...
Read moreWe checked in for 7 nights and was given a room with a non working air conditioner. It only worked on fan only and would not cool down. When I called downstairs, I was told by Pablo (same check in person) that they did not have another room available to give it time to cool down and the gall of saying drink some water. At 10:15 the room was so hot, I called the front desk again, Pablo answered I was put on hold he never came back to the phone. I tried three attempts to call even using my cell phone each time put on hold and never returning to the phone. I called Marriott and had to file a complaint report at 10:30pm. A supervisor had to call the front desk, spoke to Pablo to have us moved to another room on another floor which had a working air conditioner. All along there were other rooms available he could have moved us to and lied about. My son checked on line and called and found out there were other rooms. We are retired adults not children, my husband is a veteran and we should not have been treated this way. We ended repacking and moving from the room at 11:00pm that night. We did not get to bed until 2:00am, it was ridiculous and uncalled for. The room had a good working air conditioner and was acceptable but incredible humidity in room 414, that does not go away even when the sun is let in through the window all day. Carpet dirty like in a lot of rooms. My sister also came over from Ft Myers staying 3 days in Room 503. Window had black mold with water dripping in her room with dirty carpets again. This all could have been avoided if rooms were properly taken care of like they should be in the hotel. I must also add Pablo upon check in informed us that the cleaning service people only came on weekdays not on the weekend. We never understood that because there was a cleaning lady on the floor during Saturday?? Is he trying to cut back on business, that should have never been said upon checking in. I realize the hotel is older, remodeling was only done in the lobby area to make a nice presence for entering guests. But guests don’t sleep in the lobby and rooms need to be updated also, including the old refrigerators the rooms have that hardly work. I hope you will take this to heart, we are honest people and have only spoken the truth in...
Read moreThis was the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life of traveling. Being a place of Marriot the hotel did not reach the gold standard. My husband, my son and myself reached Fort Lauderdale at 8:42. Called the hotel at 8:45 for a shuttle and was told to meet under the white tent. Nobody came until minutes to 10!!!!! Called numerous times within that and told there was traffic. Then was told the lady came and saw no one. LIES!!!! We can read. The shuttle would say Four Points by Sheraton. Anyways we got there and checked in and got to our room. The room smelled like straight cigarette smoke. Booked a room for 3 people and we only had 2 towels and wash cloths. Called front desk and told them we needed extra towel and rag. Was told I had to go back downstairs to obtain that. That’s not a part of Marriot standards. As a guest I shouldn’t have to do that after flying for hours and still waited a hour and change for a shuttle to arrive. As a Marriot franchise the restaurant is only open from 7:30 to 9:30. Tired from the night before who’s getting up that early to catch breakfast? So restaurant is closed at 9:30 and there is nothing else to purchase until 5:00! Wow that’s spectacular. Now I called front desk to ask what should I do? I was told to go to Burger King. The Audacity. I proceeded to asked can someone call me a taxi? Was told I had to call one myself and was given a phone number. Called that number and never once a taxi came to my assistance which I know that had nothing to do with the facility but it’s a help yourself situation cause no one at the hotel was any help to me. Checked out yesterday and forgot my flat iron. Called a hour later to tell them I was coming for my flat iron and was told there wasn’t nothing in the room and it was already occupied. So who took it? Cleaners or Guests? Only God knows at this point. If I was a Auditor this hotel was failing miserably. I’ve stayed at many Sheraton Hotel and this was the worst one yet. Very inconvenient. Please do better. Oh wait let’s not forget every night I enter the hallway it was stink of Marijuana. Top notch ghetto hotel...
