Let me start off by expressing how disappointed I am with Patricia's Restaurant. Earlier in the day my wife and I attempted to reserve a 7:00 table only to be informed the only available seating was at 8:15. Being regulars and knowing how busy weekends are, we cancelled later engagements all knowing the food was well worth the later seating. As we made our way with close friends to your restaurant we endlessly bragged and told them how exceptional the food was. Upon our 8:05 arrival we noticed well over 25 people standing around the front door obviously waiting to be seated. Knowing protocol my wife informed the hostess the Franco party had arrived and the hostess responded by saying "We are running a couple minutes behind and will seat you in a couple minutes " which we didn't have a problem with. Here's the part things start to go wrong. As we stood there for 30 minutes past our 8:15 reservation we notice person after person starting to get seated. Confused my wife approached the hostess and was informed that larger tables of 6 don't have a wait. As we increasingly grew impatient, we noticed it was 45 minutes past our reservation. My wife approaches one of the owners and was told "your table is next to be seated". Noticing the frustrated tone in my wife's voice I then asked the owner why did he just seat a table of four who had just walked in. He apologizing and told us he can't tell people who are setting to leave. Which honestly was an obscure excuse for sitting other people. He then assured me we are the next table. As our night moved on our hostess sadly turned to us and said " I'm so sorry I don't know what's going on. They are NOT following the computer seating order" At the same exact moment Nick the waiter who knows us asked me how I was? My response was " I'm not so good Nick ... this isn't right what's going on. Why are we being treated like this? This is bullshit.." His response " I know it's crazy". All the while he knows we are faithful and extremely generous quite customers. I knew at that moment things didn't seam right. We where lied to and pushed aside for other customers. We stood at the entrance for over 60 minutes waiting to be seated. I'm sorry but you don't do this to a reserved customers that praises your establishment. My wife works for radiology group and services hundreds of patients monthly. She's constantly telling patients to try your place. I can assure you this will now go in he opposite direction. For every patient my wife's speaks to and food comes up. Your place will be the one NOT to go to. (Not to mention what you guys did to her coworker Marie , husband and friends a couple weeks back was totally uncalled for. Believe me the 70.00 gift certificate probably went into the garbage.) Keep in mind I also own several businesses for over 18 years now. I have never conducted business in this fashion. You guys let four disappointed, hungry and tired people turn there backs and walk out your door. Not offering one resolution. As business owners you failed. Keep in mind ZAGAT,TRIP ADVISOR,YELP,GOOGLE,URBAN SPOON and SLAT will all get a poor rating and explanation from me and those you have poorly serviced because this...
Read moreWe invited a group of people out for early dinner at Patricia's, it was our first visit. The decor and ambiance gives a good feel; one has the anticipation that dining here will be great. The tables are set up with wine glasses, water bottles and cutlery; very well placed. The table cloths were very clean. A very nice presentation ( 5 stars).
The staff - at first were very attentive, but during the course of the dining, began to wane and at the end, required us to get their attention, e.g., dessert menu or follow up on coffees or other hot drinks, that should have accompanied the desserts. The place was busy, but the floor had ample staff. For the entire experience,it was sufficient (4 stars).
The Menu had ample selections and dishes varied (pasta, salads, seafood, "carne" meat). But, the dishes were expensive - the cheapest was a Ceasar salad ($18), but adding chicken brings it up to $24; our colleague found the salad similar to a food-chain restaurant that he dines at, time to time. There is a child menu, but not really child-prices, e.g., "kids chicken parm" was $24. The child ate 1/3 of the food and could not eat more. The Chicken Marsala with pasta was a let down. It was seasoned well, but the pasta was over cooked and the marsala sauce soupy; the price $39. However, the fish dish was well seasoned and its presentation was very nice. The Salmon was savory. My colleague who ordered the chicken parm with linguine also found it very savory, but he too found the linguine overcooked, when he noted he asked for the same to be "al dente" (I am of the belief that pasta should always be served "al dente"). Another diner loved her chicken Francese; she enjoyed the meal, noting it was well cooked, seasoned, and savory. Some ordered dessert, there were several choices (layered, cheese and chocolate), but small proportions. The prices ranged from $12 to $14. We did not order any spirits or other alcohol (water, selzer, etc.,). The consensus around the table was the food was expensive, some were worth the price, e.g., the salmon, and chicken Francese, while others did not meet expectations. Our mutual vote was 3.5 stars; it is a just rating.
Patricia's is worth a "dining experience" but be wary of pricing. A small group (couples) may enjoy the dining experience more than a large group. Diners may have their expectations met if they are persistent in their food order, especially the consistency of the pasta or sauces that may accompany the...
