This has been my absolute favorite Mexican style restaurant for over a year. I’ve been here more times than I can count and have ALWAYS enjoyed my experience. But today on Cinco de Mayo was the absolute worst. I brought in two friends who had never been to have dinner and drinks with me. We were ignored for a short time before we got seen, but I just assumed it was because it was so busy. First, it was food and crumbs and debris everywhere. The floors were slippery and nasty, and one of my friends almost slipped. We ordered drinks and a margarita was brought to a friend that was not frozen or the right flavor as she asked for. They fixed it. We got our food and still tried to enjoy our time. I ordered the chorizo cheese dip, which is a favorite of mine. I didn’t eat it all so I asked for a to go container. We still had food and our purses at the table as we went to go pay. I came back to my table and they had thrown away several of our items, including my cheese dip. Even at this point I was still understanding. They only offered to give me half of the cost of the dip back stating I had eaten most of it. Of course I did bc it’s my favorite dip there and I was planning on taking it before they threw it away! I took the half discount and went and paid my bill. I asked for a cream cheese popsicle on my way out. The guy who gave it to me obviously didn’t know what he was doing bc I took one small bite and realized that it wasn’t what I asked for. They got one of the managers and she told me that I had to buy another since I took a small bite. What? I asked for the correct thing and they gave me the wrong popsicle, and still insisted I pay for the right thing. I said forget it. After a while, the male owner came over and told us to keep it down, and that even though we were customers we still needed to pipe down. Never once saw him tell a screaming child that was crying and hollering that she needed to be quiet and pipe down. We weren’t even loud. SMH. I have been there numerous amounts of times. I have never had a bad experience, but this was the worst. I’m not sure if or when I will be back, bc this has certainly left a bad taste...
Read moreBirria tacos is what brought me here originally and originally some of the best tacos I've ever had but I think they have fallen into the trap that so many restaurants do after the newness wears off. They get comfortable and quality falls.
I used to go here once a week and 9 months ago this place was a 10 out of 10, mostly because of my love of Birria tacos but also because they had some nachos and salsa.
I slowly started not going as much and today me and my coworker came here. I had the Birria tacos, it's been a few months since I have had them and he had the Burrito Loco. Both on the menu sound really amazing.
The birria tacos the last 4 or 5 times I've had them including today were no longer crisp and fresh, they tasted premade and reheated. These are not the Quesabirria tacos I would recommend to anyone. To make things even worse, I took a bit of the nachos and I was shocked at how stale they were.
My coworker immediately after eating recommended to take Tacos Don Tacho off of our lunch list. This was his first experience and he summed it up as a stale burrito.
A place I once bragged and recommended to many as one of the few good places to get Birria tacos has now become a places I would not recommend to anyone.
If I was just basing my score off of today, I would give it a 3 out of 10 but factoring in all of my experiences here, how good it was and how far it has fallen. 6.3 out of 10. I may try again in a month once I forget how bad the experience today was and see if they can get back some...
Read moreI've been patronizing this restaurant heavily for the past 6 months The food as well as the service has always been great. But the past couple of weeks service has sucked. My order has been screwed up twice within the past 3 weeks. The first time my order was incorrect I called back to the restaurant to tell the owner. He remembered me and told me the next time that I come he would make my order right no charge. Well a couple weeks later my order was wrong again this time I called I spoke with the owners daughter. She was very sweet just as she always is when I'm there...but anyways I told her my order was not correct. She said the next time that I am there she would make sure my order would be taken care of and I told her to be sure to tell her father. Well I went in today to have my ordered corrected. I spoke with thre owner and he said that his daughter had told him about the order screw up.When I told him that I wanted my order fixed according to what I had originally paid for He became short and called his daughter on the phone to verify what I had originally ordered. He then said that he would correct it this time but that would be the last time. As if I was the reason for their error. Very bad business handling. Instead of getting snappy with me, how about making sure your staff that barely understands or speaks English get the orders right. Then I won't have to go out of my way to return for the correction.
