Harbor Freight — Local services in Homewood

Great selection of all kinds of tools and gadgets but buyer beware the quality matches the prices. I got into the mindset to only buy tools that I need not more than one time but even that seems too much for some tools. The jigsaw failed after about 10 cuts, the "Dremel" knock-off was so weak I could probably only polish fingernails with it. I broke 2 ea.7/16" wrenches so far, no, not using an extension pipe. The 4" vise made it almost through its first use but cracked when I wanted to bend a pipe, and the mattock pick curled up the first time I used it in Birmingham clay. The hand truck is probably the last harbor freight item left in my basement. The truck had a flat the first day and one year later another flat, but at $2.99 for a tire I didn't mind the drive. Actually, the hand truck has seen plenty of use and abuse and is still going strong. Still I am hesitant to buy from harbor...

This store is awesome!!!!!!! I purchased a 8750 preadetor generator and had it for a little over a year ( it's killer gen by the way!) However it suffered a catastrophic failure. Went back to the store and was talking with one of the managers,,, Told him how I had serviced it A lot more than it called for, and I could not believe what transpired!! He asked if it was still in good shape, and I still had box it came in. And said bring it back and he would give me a replacement!! And wasn't Shure if he had the 1'st design, he didn't so he gave me the latest one with the HEMI HssßkEAD, THE OTHER GENERATOR WAS SO GOOD I DIDN'T believe they could make it better, but THEY DID! a lot more torque, better fuel mileage 😁! Just still can't get over how nice and smooth it transpired. I'm not going to mention his name but here had made a love long customer.,......

In short: poor customer service. This is the second time we have been into this store in the past week and experienced poor customer service. The first time was due to long lines which is not always the employees faults. I understand this. This second time, the associate that was checking out the customer I line ahead of us completed ignored the line of customers while he did whatever he was doing..still unsure. My husband became frustrated and confronted associate. The associate then yelled at my husband and followed him out of the store. The associate would not give his name and when the manager was approached, the associate was not in the wrong. Anyway, no one probably cares but it was quite embarrassing for a woman just trying to purchase an item with her husband. Even if a customer is being rude (which my husband was not) you should Never speak to...
