Wings spot Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Homewood

This place is at a busy intersection, I've smelled what they're doing for years but never stopped in. Until last week. I'm usually let down when I start craving a place and stop in, but not here. They have a huge menu and can serve up any fish you would want, in a sandwich, poboy or fillets. Catfish, whiting, perch, oysters, wings and more. Very impressive for a joint sharing space with a gas station. I was a little intimidated by the vast menu and chose a catfish poboy combo maybe too quickly. I did love it but I would have preferred some perch fillets just because they're so hard to find anywhere. My point is to really take in the menu, no need to rush, get what you really want. The cook overheard my order and I realized he was starting it before I had paid. There was no line when I got there at 10:50 but they gave me the vibe that they could handle a lunch rush. So don't let a line turn you away, if there ever is one. If any place deserved a line this place does. I will do what I need to do to be near this place at lunchtime in the future. I can’t say enough great things about Wings Spot Fish & Chicken! From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and excellent service. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Now, let’s talk about the food—WOW! Every bite was packed with flavor. The fried fish was crispy and perfectly seasoned, the chicken was juicy and delicious, and their loaded sandwiches were next-level amazing. I also tried their shrimp plate, and it was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Plus, their dipping sauces complement the meals perfectly.

The portion sizes are generous, the prices are affordable, and the food is always hot and fresh. If you’re a fan of comfort food that hits the spot every time, this is the place to be!

I get the hot wings and corn nuggets all the time and my food is always good. The wings are breaded with a variety of sauce choices to choose from and you do have the option to get them naked. They have a little something for everybody from subs to fried fillet or bone in fish, oysters, okra, italian beef sandwich, poe-boys, shrimp, salads with meat of your choice, chicken livers, chicken gizzards, chicken nuggets, gyros, burgers, cole slaw, fried dill pickles, hush puppies, baked beans, onion rings and fried green tomatoes. You have the option to dine in and there is a TV to entertain you while you're enjoying your meal. The other perk is if you need to refuel your vehicle, there is a gas station next door and a neighborhood Wal-Mart...
