I ordered the Hamburger Steak, with double the meat with onions and brown gravy, turnip greens and black eye peas with corn bread meal. I asked for raw onions on top of the wax paper so I can put on my turnip greens. I’m old school. The prices have recently went up. The meal now cost $7.89 and $3.99 for the extra piece of meat which is more than half of the dinner.
As you can see from my picture that the food looks good. But, it’s too bland and it’s to small of a portion. I realize that since Coronavirus hit store owners and Resturant’s have charged more for their products especially food. Some have doubled their meal deals which is really outrageous. It’s better to cook it yourself.
However, if your going to charge more then at least put a reasonable amount of food on the plate and season it. Next, my advice is to check your orders before leaving. I do like Paw Paw Patch but there had been times recently that they forgot my bread, silverware and my onions on plates. Yes, plates. Because I usually get 3 plates. I love the Ham and Turkey and Dressing.
But, I would like to say that the manager or he could be the owner at the Drive through window where you pay, who wears now the mask shield is always so professional, courteous and polite. I really enjoy receiving customer serviced from him when he takes my money and gives me my food. Also, and I can truly say that’s he’s one of the reasons, I come there and another I don’t want to cook! 😉 But you be the judge!
Overall, I do thank God for Paw Paw Patch being open and providing food to the community and having jobs for their employees to work. It’s a Blessing and I’m very grateful that I can go and get prepared food. I give them 4 🤩🤩. I just want a better taste, nothing missing and better portions...
Read moreUpdate: Tonight I had supper at Paw Paw Patch; they never disappoint. Even thought they were closing soon, Meredith made me feel welcome and told me to stay as long as I needed. Of course, I gave her a tip; however, she gave me a personal tip and a hug before I left. I confided in her what today was in my life, and she took the time to talk to me, said she would pray for my situation and her kindness made my night better. So a big thank you to Meredith for being kind to a broken hearted Mother who needed a good meal and a hug!
My supper tonight came from Paw Paw Patch!! I told Danielle, at the Drive-Thru window, that Paw Paw Patch should receive an award for feeding all of Homewood with the best food and in the fastest manner!! The line to the Drive-Thru is long but moves very fast, and the food is delicious!! Danielle is very pleasant and needs a raise!!!

If you want good home cooking, including meat, vegetables, bread, and dessert this is the place for you. You can either go through the drive-through or go inside for cafeteria style dining. The food is very delicious. They have specials for each day of the week; and desserts available to accompany your meal. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and it’s my go-to place during the week. The only negative is that they’re not open on the weekend.
The Paw Paw Patch has opened their Dining Room after being closed for Covid!! Good healthy meats and vegetables served by a friendly staff. Rita was our waitress and she was very attentive!! Rita will take care of you if you choose to eat in the...
Read moreWent in to dinner at 4:50 and was met with a lazy staff and cold food. I asked about the fried okra to see if it was hot and fresh and was told it was. NOT! Cold and old and the grease it was cooked in was old as well. The bitter burned oil taste made me spit it out. Then had to get my own drink because the wait staff was "busy talking". When finally approached by a waitress i told her about the okra . She brought out more burned oil over cooked scalding hot okra. It was so bad it also was inedible. She offered to bring something else (even tho SHE thought it was fine.) When she brought the other item she informed us that the manager said it was fine and didn't see what our problem was. We got up and left the rest of the cold food ( the fried chicken was rock hard and cold as well) on the table and went to pay. The waitress chased us to the counter to tell the manager she didn't know what our problem was and so I asked her to just walk away. She walked around behind me and got up close and said "dont talk to ME that way". I told her again to just walk away. The manager was RIGHT THERE! I have eaten here for 20 years and this was a first. I dont usually give bad reviews but i just will not tolerate someone trying to make excuses for bad service. Fix the attitude problem and the heat of your line and i may come back. It will be a...
