We were ready to come back home from an amazing vacation. This was our last meal on the island, before we got on the airplane. We decided to eat here because our only other option at the airport was a very expensive restaurant. And let me tell you, I sincerely regret not paying double and eating at that restaurant.
I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich an some onion rings. I ate the onion rings about an hour before getting on the plane. I started on my sandwich, it tasted kind of weird. Not terrible but definitely not like what I normally get. After about 4 bites in, the taste just got worse, it almost tasted like one of the ingredients went bad.
Fast forward to about 3 hours into my flight. My stomach got a sharp pain and I felt sick. Then I felt like I needed to go to the restroom. I went and I had diarrhea. I was fine for about an hour. Other than my stomach hurting, I was able to relax when I was in the fetal position. I ended up not being able to hold it, again. And I blew up the bathroom for the second time on my flight. I’m super embarrassed at this point. I never wanted to be “that person”. Our flight was getting ready to land. I BARELY made it off the plane. I ran to the nearest bathroom and did the same thing. This time I had to vomit in the trash while at the same time sitting on the toilet with diarrhea. I didn’t make it home that night because I couldn’t last long enough without a toilet. I vomited all night, and had the runs. The next day was no different. Today here I am, barely able to eat again, I barely have my appetite back. I ate there on 2/17/2021. If there was a way I could get this facility in huge trouble, I would. But, unfortunately I live too far away to do...
Read moreBurger King has always been my go-to meal before boarding a flight. I love the consistency—the food is tasty, familiar, reasonably priced, and usually served up quickly no matter where I am in the world. That’s why I was a bit surprised by my experience at the Burger King located in Terminal 2 of the Honolulu Airport in Hawaii.
The restaurant itself is quite spacious, and it clearly draws a crowd. However, the service was unusually slow for a fast food chain that I’ve come to rely on for quick and easy meals during travel. The main issue seemed to be staffing. There were only three elderly women running the entire operation—taking orders, preparing the food, packaging it, and calling out numbers one by one. It was obvious they were doing their best, but they were clearly overworked and exhausted trying to handle the rush.
As I waited quite a while for my order, I overheard several other customers commenting on how unusually long the wait times were. It’s not something I’ve experienced at any other Burger King location.
I’d really encourage the management at this particular branch to consider bringing in a few more staff members—just two or three extra people could make a big difference, both for the team working so hard and for the many travelers who stop by expecting the usual...
Read moreI was not surprised one bit when I clicked on this to find the reviews bad. They deserve the bad reviews! Whoever owns the airport or is in charge of restaurants... FIRE EVERYONE AT THIS BURGER KING AND REPLACE THEM WITH PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR JOBS!!!!!!!!!!
The lady taking our order was a dimwit... I asked her to take off the drinks to save money and she said, "Well, we'll take off the small, because I already put it in the computer." WHAT?! You don't tell me what to spend my money on! I have never had a fast food employee try to negotiate what I order. Talk about lazy!!!! Then she messed up our order by giving us 2 sets of 10 piece chicken nuggets instead of 1, which no doubt drove the price up even more. I was so upset, but we were in a rush to catch our flight so I let it slide.
The food was fine..... I think? My husband once he got home after our flight threw up the next morning. I wouldn't be surprised if it was from them...
I don't know if anyone who works in the airport or higher ups read this, but seriously... have some pride in your establishment and FIX the things...
