Stinger Rays Tropical Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Honolulu

APPALING! I’ve eaten at Stinger Rays on several occasions while visiting Oahu from Maui where i live. While i received my meal quickly and with a smaile, while eating i realized that my blackened Mahi Mahi fish tacos were not blackened at all.

Having been a business woman most of my life (now retired), i asked the waitress whether or not she could make them blackened like the menu states. She said that this was the way they come. So I asked for the manager. When Reid, the manager, came to the table, it was obvious he already had a chip on his shoulder and was ready for a conflict.

I explained i ordered the blackened fish tacos and really wanted my fish blackened to which he replied that the way my food was cooked is the way it is... not blackened. I then inquired as to why it said on the menu that they are blackened? He kept repeating that that was the way it is, but did offer to get me something else. I suggested that he change the menu so other people know that the fish is not blackened. He then got even more huffy saying that they were ‘not changing the menu just for me’. Huh? I said there was obviously a diconnect here because all i wanted was what was on the menu. HE TOLD ME I WAS CRAZY and stormed off telling me to never come in again! Whoa!

1. I have never been so insulted in a restaurant in my life.
2. This man needs to be FIRED for horrible, insulting customer service! Looks like management thinks that no one is ever coming back in and couldn’t care less about customers.

I did not visit the "Bar n Grill", I went 2 the convenience store shown n the pic. I have 2 say, this store is at the base of a hotel, part of the lobby/valet parking there. The woman n that store needs 2 learn how 2 service all customers. I went n there, simply, 2 c if they carried sm pks of Tylenol n Pepto Bismol. When I asked, the woman, (not the lady), abruptly said, "...regular size...over there with the medicine". I was new 2 that store, I didn't know where things were. I was shocked at her tone, how she seemed 2 feel like I had disturbed/interrupted her. I wondered how she could b working there. Or was it something else? Not used 2 "ladies" asking where things are? Was it my color, would she have spoken like that 2 me if I was a Caucasian. N, mind u she was not. Walked rt out, prices 2 high, (higher bc of what, her rudeness?), anyway. Went 2 the ABC store rt around the corner. Really rude! Sorry, don't usually refer 2 race but this woman was extended...

If I could leave no starts I would. The service sucked, the food sucked, and didnt even have any good soda pop to drink. The hamburger was sub-par. The the patty was heated up in the microwave, and the bacon was cooked this morning.. the bacon tasted like potatoe chips. And who charges 17 dollars and serves no fries with the burger. The chicken tacos were OK. Nothing fantastic.. the salsa that comes with the tacos were Pace picante.. who would be happy to serve anything that taste like it comes out of a plastic bag at a local grocery mart and heated up in the microwave.. dont let the menu suck you in like it did my wife and...
