Out of convenience. McDonald's is a great place to get a cup of tea or coffee. This place is ridiculous. They're so cheap. I buy a large hot tea. It's about 12 oz of water. They give you ONE tea bag. If you read the tea bag it says on the bag for 8 oz of water. So they need to give you 1 1/2 tea bags. Or you end up with a watered down cup of tea. Almost everyone is buying their morning DRUG "caffeine". I am no exception. I am buying caffeine and could care less about the tea. So if you follow me, I'm a hardliner for customer service. It didn't exist before the pandemic and it surely doesn't exist now after the pandemic. Only difference is now people are getting paid probably 50% more than they were before the pandemic. They're supposed to ACT at least partially like they care. Well it's McDonald's What can you expect? I asked for a second tea back. The lady at the counter acted like I was holding a place up trying to get a million dollars out of it. Buy one it was a strong cup of tea and that's going to take at least a teabag and a half. And she ain't budgeing😭. So I asked for a cup so I can get ice and cool the tea down after it steeps. Holy smoke now they know I'm trying to rob the place the place. Give me a 3 oz paper cup, like the one a dental office gives you when you have to rinse and spit. I don't know about you but pouring scalding hot tea into a small cup in one hand is a recipe for a third degree burn. If you're enough to remember and can remember lol McDonald's was sued for $4 million dollars many years ago for a woman who burned her legs from the hot coffee. Now they expect me to take a chance at getting a third degree burn on my hand. Problem I asked to speak to the manager. I tell her I need a second tea bag She looks at me kind of strange and gives me one. Life is good again. Then I decided to push my lock. I tell her I need a big cup so I can put ice in it and cool a tee down. You offers me the same 3 oz paper cup. I start to cower back and walk away. But this well-dressed woman walks up. She looks like she owes the McDonald's. She said she did not. Tell her I need a cup big enough to put ice in so I can put the hot tea in what's its steep. She says the cup is $0.50. I say so if I burn my hand and get a third degree burn, consume McDonald's and probably get $4 million dollars. You want to take a chance that I'll burn myself. The answer was loud and clear YES. MY LIFE and SAFETY is not worth McDonald's give me a cup that cost McDonald's a nickel. You follow me you know I don't stand for this kind of b*. I asked for my $1.35 back. And they cheerfully give it to me. So McDonald's is so cheap they won't give me a cup that cost a nickel but they'll give me back $1.35. then they think I'm going to keep patronizing him. Yes I'm a sucker but not always that big a sucker. Take my money and leave. Moral of the story. Like any big corporation an or franchise, money is God and King or Queen if you're a woman. Read moreYou know, it's McDonald's. You have a certain level of expectation, which this branch often fails to meet. Most recently, i pulled into the drive thru. On the Waialae restaurant, once you make that decision, you're committed. There's no escape except to go through. They were running particularly slowly... It was 23 minutes later that i pulled out! But it gets better. I was there for a sundae. I'd just finished a task and wanted a treat. There was a handwritten sign at the driveway listing soft drinks they weren't serving. It was still too late to escape by the time I could read that sign, but it was all good, because i didn't want a soda. Just ice cream. Not until i reached the ordering kiosk did i learn that they weren't serving ice cream! They offered no apology, just turned off the speaker after saying"we're not serving ice cream.' About 12 minutes later,i finally reached the window, which they refused to open. The workers just stood inside laughing.
I get that there are challenges in running a restaurant. I get that you can't always offer every menu item. But you can take responsibility for the quality of your customer's experience. Maybe offer a coupon for their next visit? Maybe apologize for the inconvenience?
I rarely visited McDonald's before this experience. I'm pretty sure i can live...
Read moreThis McDonald's location is very very slow. I ordered a fish sandwich and a smoothie and a bottled water and it took them 26 minutes from the time I placed the order at the kiosk to the time I walked out the door with my order in hand. If you are looking for fast food, this is not the location to go to.
In addition, all of the menu monitors and the update monitor are completely broken and non-functional, so you cannot tell where in line your order is or how much longer you have to wait. On The Good side, the order kiosks were up and working, they are happy to take your money, but once you pay, it is a long wait without any updates to get your food.
That said, there were a lot of stuff there, and they were all very nice and very polite, it just took a long time to get...
