Baumhower’s Victory Grille - Lee Branch — Restaurant in Hoover

Had Kim K. as our server & she was fantastic! We, a party of 3, had stopped otw back to Alexander City, after going to a nearby cemetery to pay respects to our loved ones. 2 of us had disabilities, mine was more obvious with the walking cane & oxygen machine. We asked the host for a booth as it'd be more comfortable seating. Said it'd be a 30min wait & that due to staffing shortages a cpl of booth sections were closed. So tired & hungry we opted for the table. It turned out to be a sm 4-top in the middle of that section. It also was adjacent to the empty row of booths next to the bathroom. Then Kim K arrived as I was having difficulty getting settled into the wooden seat. That's when I asked if it'd be too much trouble for her to move us to the adjacent empty booth next to her section. Without hesitation she said she'd dbl check w/ her Mgr & wouldn't be a problem for her. Next thing I know we're being seated in a booth & she promptly got our drink order to the bar. She was also very helpful with recommendations on the menu being my 1st time there. I got the pot roast Philly-styled sandwich upon her recommendation & it was awesome. Very full sized meal that I had to doggie-bag home. (& enjoyed it 2x). Kim K was very attentive throughout the entire meal & so thankful for her well-rounded server skills! Hopefully she'll be there the next time we stop by (more sooner...

I've been to this restaurant so many times over the past 20 years. The food today was very good as it always is the service was by far the worst I've ever seen in my 51 years on this earth. I was there for the iron bowl. When I sat at a table at the bar area the restaurant wasn't very busy. The waitress took my drink and appetizer order which was fine. 40 minutes later. I'm not exaggerating this part. My brother arrived to meet me. My waitress had not been back to check on me a single time. My brother flagged down another waitress 10 minutes in to his arrival for a drink. The table next to us was then occupied by a couple. They waited over 20 minutes, asking me who the waitress was. Finally I went to the hostess and asked a young man who was serving this area. He responded I don't know but I will definitely find out. 10 minutes later still nothing. The people next to us walked up to the bar for there drinks. A nice girl named emerald was working the bar. I got up left everything at my table and moved to the bar where emerald gave us good service the rest of our visit. I was never approached by a manager or anything the entire 4 hours I was there. Horrible Horrible horrible!!! It wasn't in the middle of a shift change either so don't try...

Food was good, our server was great. Drink service I give a 0. We ordered our regular drinks and cocktails and appetizers at the same time. The regular drinks came out followed by the appetizer. My cocktail never came. The server was really nice about it and kept telling me it was coming. When our food came, she was surprised that I still had not got my drink. She got her manager involved and she came to our table. She told me she would personally bring it to our table. Another 10-15 minutes past. We were done with our food and still no drink. The server brought to-go boxes and the check (which still had the drink on). She told me she thinks it is already done and on its way. We had been there over an hour and ready to go. I asked her to remove it from the bill and I didn't want it.

If the drinks had come out sooner my $50 bill would have probably been 80+. They should of at least offered me some kinda discount for the issue but they did not (No big deal) or offer me the drink for free since I waited over an hour for it. This is what I would have done for my customers.

I will say the food was great but I don't know if I will be back if I can't enjoy a few drinks with my meal. They were super busy. I am sure they won't miss us...
