This is a beautiful space and I love visiting. When I read the huge bold sign outlining their values and how those values are supported by employees and expected of those who visit, it was like opening my mind to another world. I love how the walkway winds through a pine forest, curves to the right where little shops are open to explorea coffee shop that is nestled beside a gelato shop...across the deck, another shop filled with beautiful items from pillows to cups to children's books and handmade cutting boards. This same shop also has delicious foods from meats to milk, cheese, eggs and even raw pet food! Their prices reflect the excellent quality and the fact the food is made with love. Another lovely warm space is on the other side of the gelato shop where they roast the coffee beans and where one can sit on a comfy seat and enjoy the fire in the fireplace. It refreshes my spirit to visit here, to view the space directly instead of through my phone, taking videos or photographs. This reminds me to value direct communication to my world, instead of through the "middleman" of a phone. I appreciate the protective quality that their respectful requests regarding dress code offers- for me, it elevates the experience to witness myself and others in this way.. Casual dress (especiially beach wear that i often see folks wearing iin stores) has its place everywhere else, and this space place isn't like every other one. It's different and that's the experience one agrees with when they enter this place...even if they forget to read (or totally disregard) that big, bold beautiful sign. It's amusing to me that some who attended were offended: they were their own cause of offense, as they didn't read or they didn't care enough to respect themselves from embarrassment... It's just another reflection of wondrous human frailty (myself included:))
I have visited here several times with my art and writing supplies, sitting on the grass, under dappled sunlight, creating while sipping on coffee...
Thank you for providing such a unique spaceplace. See...
Two stars max for rude staff and owner belittling women, and depends on barista as to if the espresso is awesome or altogether unpalatable (hurts to dump a $12 shot of espresso!). Families cannot afford $25 sandwiches, $40/gallon (literally) for milk, and my daughterâs Catholic school uniform should suffice to meet dress code requirements, but⊠even though itâs good enough for consecrated nuns, itâs not good enough for getting mediocre gelato after school. My husband can wear shorts above the knee and not get harassed, but not women; total double standard and very unchristian dress code, imho contrary to their demeanor. We have been here many, many times for way-way-extremely overpriced sandwiches, drinks and gelato, while leaving gracious tips, but never again. This is not the way of Jesus , friends, nor a life of prayer as is stated above the door. Theyâre critical of the Catholic faith to justify their stance. Very unsatisfactory experiences, unfortunately. We wanted to be regular patrons, and have donated to their cause. Dear Owner, Youâre turning away grateful allies within your own...
Read moreIf I could give them a 100 for super fantastic, I would. This place is a hidden gem! They have the freshest homemade gelato! Very flavorful and rich! Daily ground coffee. You can see the huge machine that grinds the beans from inside the seating area. Also serve sandwiches. Made on the spot. FRESH! Very friendly staff and all served with big smiles!! The old home that had been there was so beautifully restored. The interior has huge wood beams that had been hewn by hand and pegs to hold them in place. Wood floors. Beautiful lighting. So relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful. If you do not want to sit inside, they have lots of picnic tables, so you can sit outside in fresh air, sunshine, clouds, trees, nature, watch the birds, you got the picture! So relaxing. It is off the main highway and you would not even know it. Do not even hear the traffic noise. Leave your worries behind and go relax and enjoy a meal, dessert, or both! Highly recommended for singles, couples, or especially families! I went with my family and it was a very special day. May God bless them and all their hardwork. I...
