Culver’s — Restaurant in Hoover

I brought my older children and my grandchildren. There were 9 of us and a to go order. Let me start with the service. The person that took our orders was not familiar with the menu, so asking questions about the different sandwiches was not successful. She seemed very put out with questions and frustrated that we had such a large order. Slamming the cups for our drinks down on the counter.

The food came out fairly quickly. However, we got our mushroom Swiss burgers and neither had anything on it except meat and cheese. So we went back in and the person that fixed seemed confused and then gave us two containers with mushroom gravy. The food menu seemed to confuse the people working there. Its like they didn’t know that there was supposed to be mushroom gravy on a mushroom Swiss burger.

After we ate we went back for dessert and a to go food. The to go order was a pot roast sandwich and it was terrible. No sauce just dry. But I didn’t realize it until we got home. I would hope that there was more to that. After $135 I was really disappointed. It was like no one really knew what to do. From taking our orders, to preparing the food or how to prepare it….how to be about customer service. No smiling at all. It was very nice inside and clean and we sat outside. That part was great. But until you get that other under control people won’t come back. People will come once because it’s new but our first impression was not so good. I use to work there and they have the worst management I have ever been under in my 4 years of management experience opinion. The food is late getting out because management goes to their car and smoke unlawful substance and leaves new employees in there to do the work. They will also leave without completing a job and expect someone who is not supposed to close do all the work so they can go out with their significant other, the owners keep them around instead of handling the situation, they just let the employee who advised them of what’s going on there go. Am I paying you? They would rather lose one employee then for managers from someone who used to work there in my opinion, I would say don’t eat there my church members, church of the highlands, I’m telling you guys don’t do it. Was ok. I’m sure they’re still working out the kinks of being new. Drive thru only when we went. The chicken sandwich and soup were both very good. They messed up our order and gave us fried instead of grilled chicken. They left my husband’s fries out of our order. My husband liked the milkshake but was not impressed with the burger. We may, however, give it another try at some point.

Tried again yesterday for my second visit here. They left out my fries again. Called and didn’t even get an apology just an unconcerned “come back through the drive thru if you want your fries and we will give them to you” I went back and got them since I had paid for them and hadn’t gotten far by the time I realized they were left out of my order but I definitely won’t be back to this establishment.
