McDonald's — Restaurant in Hoover

If you want a free super sized order of 'tude, then this is your McDonald's! I don't think that I've encountered as blatantly rude employees anywhere else in my life as I did at this location today. In my first and only visit, I encountered 4 employees - 1 friendly person, 2 extremely rude people, and 1 indifferent manager.

The woman who took my money was very friendly and professional. Based on my experiences following her, I can only say that she's likely not being paid enough and that she should likely be promoted above everyone else.

The next employee I encountered, I was first exposed to through a closed window - as I followed the car in front of me to the window labeled for pickup, I noticed a woman who appeared to be angrily wagging her finger, shaking her head in disagreement, and seemingly griping/yelling at someone... As I pulled forward, I chuckled to my wife "Woah! Someone is getting an earful in there - that lady looks like she's talking mad _ish to someone". After I've pulled forward, the woman then decides it's worth the extra 2 steps and the sliding open of the window worth of effort to yell at me directly... Yup - she was yelling at me through the closed window... "THIS AIN'T FUNNY! DON'T PULL FORWARD! I SAID DON'T PULL FORWARD! BACK UP NOW!"...

By the time I backed up, the angry employee has walked away and another woman hands me my bag with an angry look on her face. "Good afternoon", I say - nothing but a frown in return. My wife urges me to ask for the manager, which I do. The woman looks at me in disgust, rolls her eyes so hard I can only assume that it gave her a headache, as she slides the window closed on me without a word.

My 4th employee experience is when the 'seemingly' very friendly/helpful acting manager opens the window - "Hey, sweetie - what seems to the problem?". As soon as I begin explaining the massive serving of unmerited tude I'd been freely given, I am just given blanket agreement and cordiality - as if to just make me go away. The 2 bad attitude employees are standing directly behind the manager, smiling as they listen to my complaints and to the manager's stating "I'll handle it"... Needless to say, I'm betting 'handle it' is more akin to laughing and high fives for a job terribly done rather than discipline.

I won't be back - there are a lot of far friendlier options in the same area that I will give my money...

This location in the past would have gotten 5 stars do to friendly, professional and quick service. But they have definitely taken a turn for the worst lately with at best only getting friendly service-sometimes. It’s certainly not quick service any longer or professional from most employees. You will hardly receive a “thank you” or kind of good positive communications of any kind from many of the employees on the intercom or when you reach any of the windows. They tend to push off the food to you and drinks without so much as a word and several times when they hand off the drinks I’ll have to ask them “now which one is this? The Dr Pepper or Diet Coke?” And the response is always the same “I don’t know!!” and they didn’t even use the indicators on the lid. So we’re left to try each other’s drinks to figure it out and that’s not the best idea right now with Covid. I highly suggest for management to step up to the plate a bit more and work on the basics with all the employees again. I know it’s difficult to get people hired on right now and maybe to keep them on but this location is not going to be a regular stop for me and my family any longer. Until service gets better we will use other...

Ordered a mushroom & swiss at the drive through. Got my ordered and ate my fries. Got to my sandwich and there was like a bean sauce covering the bottom of the container. Brought it inside, lady asked me what's wrong with it. I said there's some bean sauce on there and it's soaked. There's no way for me to pick it up with how wet it was. Apparently they made the smokehouse burger instead of the mushroom & swiss. Told her I saw the picture of the mushroom & swiss and told her it doesn't have the sauce on it that she was talking about, only the smokehouse does to which she responded that "you never know." So, stood there for about 10 minutes. I can see the gentleman making my sandwich and he's slapping it together, with no gloves on. Lady next to him has gloves on, putting sandwiches together, but has no hair net on. Got my sandwich, 10 minutes later and it was just carelessly put together. I'm never coming to the place again. Not to mention the floors in front of the counter where you order and grab your food are slippery and just feel disgusting. Horrible...
