Wing it — Restaurant in Hoover

This restaurant used to be the best wing restaurant in town but it has really gone down hill. I am guessing to save money they have stopped getting high quality wings. The current wings they use are very small and don't have much meat on the bones. Because of this the meat on them can be very dry/tough because when there is less meat on the bone, it doesn't take as long to cook them. Unfortunately a lot of my wings are overcooked. This isn't as much as a problem with the drum pieces (since the meat is thicker), but the flats can be really bad. They also changed the brand of fries they used a few years ago. The new fries hold on to a lot of grease. There have been many times where I have bitten into a french fry and my mouth is filled with vegetable oil (gross). The worst part about all of these things is the price of their food has increased, while the quality has decreased. This is why I have stopped visiting. For example you used to be able to get a 10 pc special (wings and fries) for about $6.50 now it costs close to $9 once the tax is added. I dont mind paying if the food is good but it has gone down hill. The flavors are still good its just the wing and fries have gone down. It is really a shame because this place really was the absolute best in town back when it was called American Deli, but they had to change the name because they weren't affiliated with the American...

If there's ever been a place that is worthy of a one star its Wing It. First off, the people who run this place are the rudest stingiest tightwads on the planet. They talk to you like you're a burden while your placing your order, they don't mind taking a tone with you. I'll go on record and say that I've never seen a place with such poor customer appreciation as this grease pit. They're extremely frugal too. If you ever order fries then they ask if you want salt and ketchup and they squirt it on themselves rather then give packets. They will give you packets if you request them. These are the type of tightwads that will get upset over someone asking for an extra refill of Pepsi. They just don't seem to understand that they're a small business in a hidden location so it might be a good idea to act like they value those who patronize the place. Acutal food? Wings are small and probably the cheapest you can buy. The Cheesesteaks don't taste all that bad but they're so skimpy in size for the price. I don’t like leaving bad reviews. But I will never eat here again, the wings were very small and refried. They give you a SMALL amount of fries, they were fried hard. I paid $15 for my meal and my box felt lighter than a feather. I felt rushed to pay. The Asian lady saw the look on my face when she showed me my meal. I wanted a refund, but I said I’m not going to inconvenience myself. I just won’t ever come here again. I love the WingIT location in Center Point it is one of the best wing spots in Birmingham.
