My family & I are local, & we’ve been here quite a few times. I’ve never had an issue with their food until now, outside of it being more expensive than some of the more popular sushi places in the area.
I chose the restaurant after church this past weekend, & I honestly cannot say that I will ever go back. It was myself, my husband & my (4) children. Upon sitting down to eat our food my daughter picked up one of her French fries & there was a ROACH crushed on the fry below it. A literal squished roach. I called the lady over & she said she would get the manager. No one ever came over to speak to us. My daughter gets up to get fruit- completely disgusted by the bug in her food- & ANOTHER ROACH crawls across the plates as she goes to grab one.
At this point everyone was sick to their stomachs & unable to eat. I decided to make a hibachi plate with the mindset that at least it was cooked in front of me?… The woman brought the check & says “Thanks have a great day”- like nothing ever happened. The check was well over $100. So my husband goes to speak with her & tells her he needs to speak with a manager. Because no one ate their food after finding a roach in their plate- & that’s a lot of money to pay for food that wasn’t eaten. She started to defend the manager (as if the managers people skills were the issue & not the roaches crawling in all of the food) They took $20 off of our check. $20. We paid $80 for sodas.
My husband walks out irritated, & I asked the woman if I could just take the hibachi they finished in a box. She says “Yeah if you pay by the pound”. I said I already paid for it. She says “No, you paid for the buffet, not to take it home” At this point I’m frustrated, because I tried SO HARD not to cause a scene. I said…”Ma’am, I paid a lot of money for food that we didn’t eat because of the bugs- I really just want to go home. She looks me dead in my face & says “Do you want it or not.” I said “No actually, I do not.” And walked out.
So unless you’d like to pay 60-100$ for roaches crushed in your food- I suggest you go elsewhere with your money. Mind you, this is a restaurant that I REALLY loved. I’m so disappointed. The health department really needs to get involved. If it were a fly or an ant or something- it already would’ve been gross. But where you find 1-2 roaches crawling around in the LIGHT you find THOUSANDS. This is not okay, & it’s really gross that they just allowed people to keep eating. This happened on 04/13/25. I will not be eating...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I recently stopped in for lunch while we were out doing errands. Now, I've heard good things about this place and this was my first time dining in at this location. Not impressed with the interior of the dining area. There were noticeable crumbs swept onto window seal, floors look aged with dirt and heavy foot traction. The food was absolutely horrible!!! Fries were cold and felt as if they were microwaved and put out. A good portion of the items at the buffet had no labels. Condiments were very bare and a lot of what was out were Walmart Great Value items. Honestly, it looks as if this place supplies all their food from Walmart across the street and charge you twice as much to compensate the loss they have for paying for the food out of their own pockets. The only thing I managed to eat was a small fish filet and a few crab wontons, my girlfriend had some rice and tried some other stuff but said everything tasted as if they microwaved it and set it out in the heat lamp/buffet table. Ended up pay 30 DOLLARS!! For lousy food, inadequate service and run down, bland dining atmosphere. Worst dining experience so please, do yourselves a favor and skip this entire place and don't even glance at it. I'm still upset the day after paying 30 dollars for an unfulfilled lunch for food that was...
Read moreRevised in 2023:: See bottom of Review for original :::: This place used to get a full 5 stars from me. It was a family favorite ! Today my husband and I dined there , and I'm assuming it's under new ownership. The buffet was mostly the same , but the food tasted not fresh (some freezer burned , possibly microwaved , and some very dated. )The sushi had dry crunchy pieces, and my husband's spring rolls tasted like rotting food. We used to frequent this place often prior to COVID. This was our first visit in a couple of years. I was horrified at the downturn. Everything I ate had an "off taste" and a Cockroach ran off the clean stack of plates, when we took one off the top. (Which is when we paid and made our exit ).
I am truly sad to see the decline in this restaurant. It's a shame. I usually never leave negative reviews , but I couldn't leave this unsaid .
Original Review from 2017 *. This place is aways good. The food is always hot and fresh. My only complaint is that I eat way too much here!! The staff is nice and always remembers my family. My kids love the place so much they refer to it as "the favorite place restaurant !" Excellent sushi and Hibachi. There is something for even non...
